Granted its an opinion, I wasn't arguing that, douchebag. I was wondering that how did people come to this conclusion.

The movies got bad reviews. Fans thought it was garbage. Joystiq is made up primarily of video game players (at least, Im assuming some of you play games).

Which leads me to beleive that

a) Resident Evil is officially unpopular in terms of pop culture gaming. Since like I said, fans did and do hate those movies. Before I start quoting sources, wikipedia can do the job for me.

b) If it was popular, since joystiq is made up of game players, there would be more of an opinion towards the 'these movies suck' catagory, based on fact a that fans generally by and by dislike the movies.

Im more so confused by the fact that there wasnt one or two people on here going 'it was alright' and the majority going 'booooo!' as opposed to the other way around. Maybe time has healed wounds and people dont hate anderson as much as they do boll anymore.

Wow calling me names? What is the reason behind that? Did I call you any names or insult you to justify that? No.

Now don't you look childish.

@ Micah:

Regarding what you said about the RE games control scheme...I feel the same way. Glad to see that I'm not the only one who has a problem with that type of control scheme (same applies to the Silent Hill series as well.)

Before I start I'd like to say there is a petition for a remake of the RE movie, this time using original characters. You can find it here.

http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?signmedg

(Sigh)... As a complete fan of Resident Evil games I felt so dissapointed when the original characters were exempt from the movie. So dissapointed I couldn't bear to watch it. Anderson said he didn't want the movie to be predictable - but he was making a movie based on an existing story. He could at least let gamers see their favourite characters! He even said 'Alice' is 'like Jill' but from what I heard 'Alice' is a super human thingy whereas Jill is a normal human being, specially trained in combat. Using her survival skills to escape the madness of the mansion. Is it true that whats-her-name bought the rights to making the movie? I like George Romero's script much better - it had Chris and Jill in it :)
Did you know that the director of the RE games was influenced by Romero's zombie movies to begin with. I feel more saddness when I think of Anderson continuing to butcher and dismember the plot of RE and the characters - like a crazed 'Hollywood Tyrant'. I don't like what I'm hearing about the RE3 movie just as I did with the others. This one sounds too apocalyptic! I'm sure if Chris were in it he wouldn't let Umbrella get as far as spreading the virus in a global outburst. (Sigh)... thats what happens when you leave it in the hands of amateurs such as 'Alice'. So if you want to help save the world a whole lotta torment - please sign the petition ^^;

Well I didn't start the petition, I just thought it was a good idea. And if people were unhappy with the film adaptations, where is the hurt in signing a petition for a new one? PLUS if you do, the number of signatures would increase ^_^ So sign it if you want a movie remake that keeps faithful to the game - thats all.

Well suit yourself, but I know there are many people out there who would love to see a great RE movie that compliments the game. I know it will happen one day.
