The original Halo 3 trailer

Sometimes absurd is good. And in this case, it's golden. For whatever reason, this particular Halo 3 trailer parody strikes a chord in the ol' funny bone area. Complete with smoke, Halo 3 music, and a dog acting as Cortana, you gotta love this kid's spirit.
If you find yourself bored for a couple minutes, it's worth a watch -- if only to hear the voice and music cribbed from the "official" trailer, which you can view here to compare techniques.

These kids shouldn't even be old enough to know what HALO is.. Bad parenting? ;-)
Big upgrade on Cortana though!
Eric @ Jul 5th 2006 2:43PM
I feel my I.Q. dropping with every frame...
Josh @ Jul 5th 2006 2:52PM
Meh. I like stupid funny, but this didn't even register as that.
funkonaut @ Jul 5th 2006 2:55PM
Bad parenting indeed...

Slow day at Joystiq, eh?
DOMBY! @ Jul 5th 2006 3:04PM
Cortana is such a bitch.
Har har har.
But seriously, what was the point of this?
Angelo @ Jul 5th 2006 3:05PM
It is Halo for them, it was Goldeneye for us.
Z-247 @ Jul 5th 2006 3:11PM
This was about as exciting as the real trailer. Nothing going on but a guy walking. Oh, but this version has a dog.
Ozyman666 @ Jul 5th 2006 3:14PM
I'd like to formally request designation as the "Slow day at Joystiq?" guy.
I would come into each thread at the beginning and post "SDAJ?" and relieve that burden from those who feel compelled to post it every ... freaking ... day.
Nicholas @ Jul 5th 2006 3:15PM
Yeah thats true it was goldeneye for us, and mario 64 and metal gear soild, and mario kart and donkey kong and Banjo Kazooie, starfox....

This was pretty much just another dumb youtube video, but when the trampoline appeared as the forerunner structure, I did laugh.
Derick @ Jul 5th 2006 3:30PM
They did a pretty great job!
But what about that kid on the left trying to rop open something....?
Was he opening a package of smoke bombs?
SID SPACE @ Jul 5th 2006 3:36PM
The trampoline taking the place of the Ark made me crack a smile.
EdZ @ Jul 5th 2006 3:40PM
The arc of the trampoline was funny, but I was expecting something to come of the hose snaking underneath. I was underwhel...
Waitaminute, this means that kids, playing games, are actually playing OUTSIDE! And people say games aren't good for you.
AssemblyLineHuman @ Jul 5th 2006 4:21PM
And people said we would never achieve photorealism in video games. ;)
josh @ Jul 5th 2006 4:45PM
dumb as hell. what a waste of time.
solitude @ Jul 5th 2006 4:47PM
Is it just me or is there blood on the dog's mouth, i think the dog ate the kid.
EP @ Jul 5th 2006 4:55PM
So is it safe to assume that these are the kids who shout out slurs on Live? I'm glad they're channeling their hate into something . . . productive?
SID SPACE @ Jul 5th 2006 5:34PM
@ solitude:
No, it's not blood. My dog has the same stains on her paws and muzzle. It's usually caused by the dog's saliva remaining on the fur after it licks those areas.
Lucifer @ Jul 7th 2006 1:41PM
Very cool lol
