EA devours competition, wins spicy burger contest for third straight year
Electronic Arts employees in Redwood City have won the Prince of Wales pub's annual habanero burger contest for a third straight year.Pub owner Jack Curry told the San Mateo Daily Journal that the EA team consumed 60 pepper-laced hamburgers, besting RSA, a computer security company, in order to retain the prestigious Prince of Wales title. Unfortunately, the win has done nothing to invigorate EA's steadily sinking stocks.

Here's a new game idea for EA to try once they get tired of all the franchise sequels... professional eating competition simulator!

Great "Pub". I'm a member of the "Beers around the World" club there. Great fish and chips. Great jalepeno katchup. I'm affraid to try the Habenero burger though.

So this is why there games are decreasing in quality. They spend too much time "conditioning" at the pub for the contest.

I couldn't even finish one of those things. I tried. I wonder how many people are on a "team"?

And they washed the burgers down with an independent publisher's blood.

as a former employee of EA, I can say that a team is the entire company... or at least everyone in the company that works at the redwood city campus.
those burgers are hot as hell, but i supported them last year by eating 2. the competition actually lasts all week... and for the record, it's us mistreated testers that eat the most.

Brian, their habenero burger can't be beat if you like spicy stuff; otherwise get the kobe burger, which IMO is the best burger to be had in San Mateo...
Crazy, I knew Prince of Wales was poppin' but I never expected to see it spoken of on a popular video game blog...

Heck, I work in San Mateo, and never knew EA was near by. Sony has an office next to a local BofA branch in Foster City...

I heard that RSA is going to bring in Vlad as a ringer for next year's contest.

Spicy burgers can have no effect on hell-spawn.

WTF. Why did you add that dumb comment about EA's stock price at the end? Ruined a perfectly good light and fun post.

Prince of Wales, San Mateos finest in this blog brings the credibility of this blog to an all time high. Congrats to Joystiq for honoring one of the bay areas finest establishments. The Habanero Burger is legendary, I have seen the strongest ox fall in a whimpering pile of defeated man after 2 bites. Finishing one results in the most intense "burning ring of fire" that one can imagine...and I dont mean Johnny Cash if you know what I mean. Congrats to EA...this is actually a strong victory.
