Get that WoW angst off your chest

Are you a recovering World of Warcraft addict? Do you feel the need to tell the world just how you feel about this little game that sucked up hours upon hours of your life? Well now, thanks to WoW Detox, you can!
Join hundreds of other WoW refugees in one big wahmbulance party as you commiserate with your fellow online griefers on just why this game really blew the big one for you. Choice quotes include:
- I can only get owned by 14 year old's so many times.
- A masters degree feels more satisfying than tier 2 epics.
- Because cartoon nipples just don't do it for me anymore.
- Because my wife divorced me, took half my money, and the credit card I used to pay for WoW.
- Because it isn't as good as everyone thinks it is. I don't need to play Super Diablo II Turbo anymore.

I never found WoW to be addictive at all. I played it for about 5 months before I found it to be boring and cancelled my account. I never really got a character past level 41 or so, as the game seemed to just get tremendously boring at that point. I guess MMORPGs are just not for me.

never tried it, anything that requires that much effort and money and doesnt get you laid is worthless. a much better move would be a gym membership.

I just got back into it after taking a few months off from it. Got sort of bored with it, and was just playing it too much.
I guess it all boils down to who you are playing with. So now a bunch of people from my work are in a guild and it is fun again.

25 pages and counting of comments like the above. After reading thru about half the comments I was reminded why I have not made the commitment to play WoW. There are not enough hours in the day for me to play WoW, I finally finished Oblivion the other week and I'm looking forward to Prey next week. I like playing many different games, and that consumes too much time as it is. I have work, my wife, our houses that require my attention, and now we are becoming guardians of three kids, when on earth would I play WoW?

Heh, here it comes, the first 3 million or so players that got into wow have now had time to get sick of it.
Let the backlash begin... lol.

This is what it comes down to for me. When some of my friends got busy with their lives and could no longer play as often (and the same happened with me) there was really no point in logging on anymore. Playing with strangers can really suck in MMOs.
Also, I'm sick of MMO monthly fees. At $15/month, I can afford or almost afford to get a great bargain bin or used game that will provide me with an entirely new experience/content instead of running the same three or four instances over and over ... and I have something tangible to show for my money, that I can trade in or sell if I want to.
I'd probably keep my WoW account open if I could pay by the hour at some reasonable rate ... but if some months I only have the time or inclination to play a couple hours a week, then I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

EQ2 FTW
It has built in detox. Every three months they completely redesign the game!
