Now I REALLY want that Lite Rumble Pak, $25 for importing may be worth it after all. Too bad it's looking like another case of Play-yan, where a US version will never be released.

Anyone else have the Lite Rumble Pak? Is it any good compared to the original DS Rumble Pak? Any better/less chirpy?

You can purchase a stand-alone DS rumble pak at GameStop for $99.99. Yes, that's $99.99 unless you buy it with Metroid Prime Hunters or buy Metroid Pinball (which already comes with it).

#2, Are you sure it's not $9.99 like it is online at Nintendo's store?

You can get both DS Lite and DS Rumble Packs for $10 at Nintendo's online store.

#3, the Nintendo store says it has both the DS Lite and DS Hueg rumble packs, but the pictures for both of them are the same, so I'm kinda worried about buying one from there.

Thought it wasn't mentioned here, when I read this article at GoNintendo it said they were going to ship the game with the rumble, like they did in the days of 64. So I would hold onto your money until we hear more from Nintendo.

It would be a terrible thing if this game didn't have rumble, just from a historical perspective.

The price tag on the Rumble Pak in Gamestop/EB is indeed $99.99...nothing like a $90.00 markup to make some profit. Has anyone actually purchased one of these in a brick-and-mortar store?

It would be interesting to hear the logic behind the high price.

Very odd...just spoke with someone at the local EB and the price is $49.99 for the Rumble Pak. And that's AFTER telling them their webpage lists the item for $9.99! They thought it was "some sort of special in the webpage".

I somehow doubt it...I love the talking heads at those retails shops. They had no information as to why the price was $40.00 more in stores.

it's 99.99 because we are not supposed to sell it. case in point...when someone trades in a 360 hard drive, or psp mem, the price becomes 999.99. we have to ship it back to the warehouse so it can be formatted to protect against unlawful content. the 99.99 price tag just reminds the employees that it is a free give-away not to be sold.

Are you at an EB or a Gamestop? Both locations in my town regularly shelve the item!

from gamestop originally but promoted to eb store manager. there was an in-house e-mail specifically stating do not sell these. they are gifts when buying metroid prime: hunters and/or pinball. i know pinball already comes with it, but some reason the stopped packing all of them with it recently. maybe a warehouse mishap, who knows.

Curious...but thanks for the info. I remember seeing the price and being shocked!

And much like epobirs, I agree. The pack-in with StarFox 64 was a great deal and it helped make the game fun! That thing shook like CRAZY when you got hit.

Hmmmm....you don't suppose that Nintendo would be so nice and willing as to accept my current older DS Rumble Pak for a new DS Lite Rumble Pak, would they? On an unrelated note, did anyone else take advantage this past holiday weekend of the deal at EB Games where they gave an *extra* $20 credit on top of the current $40 trade-in value of the older DS? Trading in my original DS (along with copies of Polarium and Puyo Pop Fever) netted me a DS Lite for around $50 -- not great, but not bad either.

Exactly what I want. Something that makes a $150 piece of electronics a little harder to hold onto.

I am so stoked for this game, the biggest problem I'm having with my Lite is that I need a good carrying case for the system and my dozen games (+1 for Star Fox, +1 for Mana, +1 for FF3, +1 for Zelda . . .)

I have one (but in white) and I'm able to comfortably and safely carry 9 DS games in it.

Oh...no no. Just the games. I haven't found a case that holds the DS Lite, a bunch of games AND is comfortable. I just carry my DS Lite in its own pouch and the games in the case I showed earlier.

What's your tetris score?

Between my Girlfriend and I, we're nearly to the 7000 range (I am awaiting the day we're acknowledged elite - it almost happened yesterday). She's dropping my 6915 score down to 6600's as we speak.

Wow. Between this, LoZ: PH, FF3, etc. it looks like my DS is gonna be getting a lot of love soon (not to mention I haven't even bought Mario Kart or New Super Mario Bros. OR Brain Age yet).

Tell me.. while my wallet is taking a hit anyway, is the DS Lite really worth the money if i already have a normal old one? I noticed when testing one out that the screen feels a tab flimsy and the d-pad isn't as satisfying, but is the slylish sleekness and brighter screen enough to cancel those setbacks back and lay down some cash for a Lite?

Yes. Period. I love the smaller form factor and the screens are dramatically better. There has been some disput as to the speakers but for me, they sound better and clearer.

On your comment of the D-Pad, maybe its my preference, but I find it MUCH better, as well as the buttons. The only thing I have found as a negative is that the old one had a better touch screen response (seems more granular)

Can you get the Lite Rumble Pak in the UK yet? Or the regular one for that matter? I can't say I've ever seen it here...
