Almost all "collector's edition" games aren't worth the extra cash. And the idea of pre-ordering games is silly. They will have more then enough to go around on launch day.

Yeah we all better preorder! You KNOW they just might sellout!

Yeah Right.
Best Buy gets no video game out on the day it comes out. Why go through the hassle of pre-order to wait an extra day or two when you could have bought it at target on launch day.

"Best Buy gets no video game out on the day it comes out."
Just ask someone if it's in, usually they get them in days before and no one has put them out yet. And Halo 3 isn't just another game... It WILL be out on the shelves on launch day.

Are you kidding me ?
Preordering a piece of software more thant a year in advance ?

I don't think so.

Apart from the fact that it is absolutely unnecessary as games don't need to be preordered, nobody knows right now if Halo3 will be a good game.

think about Devil May Cry, Tomb Raider, Quake... All good series, with at least one crappy episode.

What if Halo3 was the crappy one ? I am not buying it until I see good reviews.

Sorry #5, it ain't happening.. And besides, Sony is shooting themselves in the foot constantly, MS should just let them [Sony] keep doin what their doin.. And Come on now #6, These guys take their sweet time when it comes to Halo, and it pays off.. H3 will surely be something of greatness no doubt. And why pre-order when ther is Gamefly?

The 69 dollar price is Canadian - the sites are Futureshop and bestbuy Canada. The 69 dollars is our usual price. (Special editions in Canada usually come in at 79 bucks.)

$69.99 is the normal price for games up here in Canada. It's roughly $63 American. Considering those are both Canadian sites, I fail to see why you're so surprised.

I remember when Halo 2 came out. I bought the collector's edition because the staore I was in didn't have the regular edition on the shelves. But, I returned it unopened because of the lack of cooperative play for Live.

Does anyone know if Halo 3 will feature coop Live play? Does Bungie know how to program Coop MP? Not knocking them, but rather trying to understand them better. :)

what should surprise some of you is the fact, that Europeans pay EUR 69,90 for all games.

Stop whining already, really.

Pre-ordering is just stupid and I refuse to do it. Why do retailers burden customers with 2 trips to the store and 2 different transactions just so they can get their orders more accurate?

Pre-orders often work out most of the time when it comes to games.. Stores will only get shipped to them so many games, and by pre-ordering that store will let corporate know how many extra they're going to need. The rest depends upon corporate and how many they copies they can get to the store.. Most of the time it works. And stores need to have so many pre-orders and stuff like that so they'll look good. I worked at Gamestop for a while a few years back and that's how it was.

The pre-order for the US Best Buys. It's the typical 360 game price, and this one says no date announced, as it should be.

The game wont cost 69.99 Cdn. Thats only the price of 3rd party games. All 1st party games here cost 59.99 Cdn. And that will be the price of this game.
