Chromehounds comes out this WEEK!

Yes this sucks with the lack of games in the summer. However Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is amazing. I just cannot get enough of that game. The graphics and gameplay are just phenomenal. I am probably only going to get one system this generation and the Xbox 360 is doing me good.

After looking at the Nintendo Wii and realizing that it couldn't pull of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter graphically as well as the physics, and AI (artificial intelligence). I realize I made the right decision getting a 360.

I am really enjoying my games that I got right now. I can only imagine what Gears of War will be like.

Physics and Graphics add a lot more to the gameplay.

I've played the Prey demo for the 360 and it was good. I definitely going to pick Prey up. I have Chromehounds on reserve, I've been waiting for a mech game for the 360. Although I want both these games I wish I had more choices.

Picked up Battle for Middle Earth this week. Controls take a little getting used to but overall a very cool game that looks like it will last a good while with Good and Evil campaign and online play.

Prey demo was amazing! The Multiplayer had allot of lag, but I'm sure they will fix that by the time this goes on sale Tuesday. Looks to be a must have title if your a fan of FPS.

I agree with drew, there isn't much to choose from :(

so thats why I haven't gotten a 360 yet

@ 2 , I do agree gfx and physics add a sort of enhancment to gameplay. I can play oblivion @ lowest + highest settings and I don't give a crap because they don't affect the gameplay. The physics are fun to play with but they get boring.

But I don't want a game who is so realistic that it reminds you of real life... wtf is the point of that?

I'm not saying Chromehounds or Prey are going to be bad, but you shouldn't blow your monthly game budget on 'em before you at least giving LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth 2 a rental.

It's fun, addictive, challenging, and unlike like anything else you can find on the 360. For me it's been the best release since oblivion, and I've never been much of an RTS fan either.

I was impressed with the Prey demo. Having Blue Oyster Cult blaring on the jukebox at the beginning was a definite plus. (huge BOC fan) :)

I liked the organic feel to the weapons, as well as the level design. I hadn't even considered picking up the full game and had only downloaded the demo on a lark. Now it looks like I'll get to break in my HDTV with the full version of Prey.

Yeah that would be pretty lame if you could walk around in an alternate universe like in the Matrix...so boring. I'd rather play a Mario platformer.

If it wasn't for the marketplace demo, I wouldn't think about getting Prey, but now I'm considering it. I was floored by the intro, and the gameplay is interesting and fun.

And, #2, maybe you should wait until we actually see what the Wii can do. I wouldn't be surprised if it could pull off GRAW.

Wii60 for me, please!

Wow you guys have to be the lamest gamers ive ever seen. Your telling me you wouldnt wanna see a game that looks so good you cant distinguish that from real life. Go play an Atari, then shoot yourselves....

Maybe it's just me, but I never understood why summer is a "slow time" for these kinds of things.

Yes, people go on vacation and, gasp, do things outside. But arguably your biggest market - grade schools and colleges - have a lot more free time and perhaps are even making money in summer jobs so they can afford those games.

Even for those of us who are sadly no longer in college, things tend to slow down in the summer. I definitely have a hell of a lot more time in the summer than any other time (the markets slow down, but then I'm also off from law school for the summer, so for me it's a different situation).

Wouldn't it make sense to capitalize on that? Maybe that's the real reason, with all its exclusive contracts and all, that ERTS is still in the gutter and needs to buy out underwater options. Damn EA... you're killing me here.

Meddow you moron. I said physics and graphics add to the gameplay. ADD..ADDD....ADDDDD not OVER!

Jeez. It amazes me how some people can read a comment and actually have no idea what it means. Personally I am only getting one console this generation. Why? Because for one it is to damn expensive to buy all three. Two? Because the Xbox 360 (to me) has the games that I want.

Oblivion, Gears of War, Halo, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Project Gotham and so forth. I am not saying the other consoles are bad or have bad games I just like my Xbox 360 games more than the others.

For the PS3 it is way to expensive and the games that I want are already out for the 360 or are coming out in the near future. No sense in buying the PS3.

As for the Wii. I am sure it will be ok however not only do I like great gameplay which I am sure the Wii will have but I also like really awesome graphics. The Xbox 360 wins hands down in the graphics and physics department. The Artificial Intelligence we all know will be superior on the Xbox 360 because of the increase in horsepower.

This is not to say the Wii will be bad it is just not for me. I am sure the graphics will be good compared to last generation however will fall short when compared to the Xbox 360 games. Furthermore the Nintendo Wii can't do games like Gears of War on that console. It just isn't powerful enough. Now if you are comfortable with that then go ahead and buy one. I am not holding you back.

The fact of the matter for me is that I bought an Xbox 360 opening day and have really enjoyed it.

Nuff said.

Chromehounds is a hunk of garbage. I'd rather play MechWarrior 2 in DOS. Now THAT was how you do a mech game.

Prey, I'm undecided. While it's a unique enough concept it seems odd to me. I've never gotten so disoriented in a game before. We'll see if the reviews can sway me.

17, there is a lot more involved with having superior AI than how much "horsepower" a system has. The main goal of current chip design is to maximize the speed they can get instructions through the processor. *MOST* AI routines are recursive in some way and need to sit in the processor for a while. If AI routines can't sit and spin in the processor for a while, there really won't be anything new happening AI-wise in the new consoles.

So far Chromehounds is getting less-than-stellar reviews. Only 2 on record right now at Gamerankings http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/928456.asp but they're 40% and 56% respectively.

Slow pacing, bad controls, and horrible singleplayer seem to be the main sticking points in these two reviews. It'll be interesting to see what some of the major sources say (Gamespy, Gamespot, IGN)

Ouch, those Chromehound reviews hurt. I wonder what IGN will say about it. It looks like I'll have to wait and see on Chromehounds. I knew it was a mech "sim" game, which is why it would be slow but if the single player modes is trash then I'm not interested. I know online is all the rage and all but I think the single player should be the meat of the game. Hopefully a demo will come out soon. Maybe I'll check out Battle for Middle Earth

This is why we need more choices.

Just create a UK passport account and then create a new silver 360 log on, and get the Chromehounds demo.

You move pretty slow, but it is not as bad as those reviews said.
