Internet survey lists Half-Life 2 for Xbox 360

A recent survey (see above), conducted by Penn, Shoen, and Berlan Association Inc., included Half-Life 2 in a list of "soon to be released games for Xbox 360." While this is in no way official confirmation that a port is in the works, it's the second time we've seen Half-Life 2 for Xbox 360 listed -- EB Games & GameStop did it back in May.
While Valve continues to remain tight-lipped, a Half-Life 2 port that includes multiplayer and expansion capabilities is the obvious candidate for the company's confirmed Xbox 360 project. That's not to say we wouldn't prefer a wholly original title instead; but, seeing as how it took Valve five years to craft the initial version of Half-Life 2, perhaps it's in the company's best interests to continue to milk the title for all its worth. After all, a game as superb as Half-Life 2 deserves proper console treatment -- that Xbox version just didn't cut it.

Yes! Because Half-Life 2 for the Xbox was such a success and great game that they should port it again!
Oh wait.

How about focusing on Half-Life 3 instead? amirite?

I disagree with the comment that Half Life 2 for the Xbox didn't cut it. I played Half Life on the PC and decided not to spend the $$$ to upgrade for HL2. I maintain that only people who played HL2 on the PC would be disappointed. Using the perspective of other Xbox FPSes, it was a SUPERB game. It's actually amazing what they did with what they had.
Half Life 2 for the XBox came out JUST as the 360 was launched. Talk about horrible timing.

Whats wrong with making Half-Life 2 backwards compatible with the 360? =/
GamerZero @ Jul 10th 2006 3:43PM
Bring it on and make it shine, otherwise just patch the old Xbox port to make it BC.

Half-Life 2 IS BC with 360, and it sucks so much ass it makes me want to suck up my innards through my esophagus using a gravity gun. It's full of glitches, disgusting framerate drops and horrible, horrible load times. I say, skip HL2 on 360 - just make HL3 a PC/360 game right out of the gate.

No. Lack of mouse makes it such a lesser game. HL2 is one of those games that needs a mouse. has one been released for the 360 yet?

They should make it for the Wii instead. Just imagine playing HL2 with the Wiimote...

Uh, guys it is backwards compatible already. I should know because I played it all the way through on my 360. But besides that, was it really that bad on Xbox? Granted, I haven't played it on PC, but I thought the game was fantastic but reviews seemed to be substantially lower than the PC version. Sure multiplayer would've been cool, but no one would have been online to play against. They would've been far too busy playing Halo 2 to ever even try to enjoy Half-Life 2.

Half-Life 2? I am more interested with Cars coming to 360
Adam @ Jul 10th 2006 10:35PM
What they should do is release a combination Half-Life 2 and remake of Half-Life with new models and textures on the 360. That I would buy without a moment's hesitation.

Isn't Rayman Raving Rabbids a Wii exclusive?
V1L3 @ Jul 11th 2006 1:00AM
What made Half Life 2 stand out where the physics, the atmosphere, storyline and quality voice acting.
All those elements made it to the Xbox version unscathed.
Sure, the frame rate and resolution were "substandard" (if you've seen it running on a high-end PC, that is), but is that all that makes a game worth playing these days? Anyone who thinks the Xbox version was crap simply because of the technology issues obviously has no intentions of buying a Wii.

ONLINE CO-OP!! That would rock too hard if you could play through the single player campaign with a friend. What could be cooler? Nothing. Dont even try. Now, please give it to me. Thanks, Valve.

Now that HL2 has been officially announced for 360 and PS3, it's huge boon for MS and Sony but futhers the unfortunate perception that the Wii is not powerful. The Wii is more powerful than the original XBox, has the best FPS interface of any console, and has a decent chance of outselling Sony and Microsoft. Why no Half-Life 2?
