Readers pick best webcomic (July 2 - 8, 2006)

In their sophomore appearance on the wrapup (correct me if I'm wrong), F@NB0Y$ took the top spot for adding style to an old and overused RPG cliché -- congratulations on becoming the fan-favorite webcomic of the week. Second place went to the very beautiful, very extreme, very new Hooked on Polygons, and perennial favorites VG Cats stole third place (ba-dum-dum-pish).

A general consensus from commentors was that we robbed Ctrl+Alt+Del and Penny Arcade of spots up there that would have made the list deserving. However, one must remember that this is for game-related comic strips, not comics that perpetually discuss games, and PA did not tackle gaming at all this week. The DS Lite mockup done by Tim Buckley had already been given its due the day prior.

We're not forgetting about the big guns in game comics, but we'd rather keep to the rules and throw some newer artists in the mix  who would not normally get their work out. As Tim Buckley put it, "it's all in good fun."

So thanks to everyone who voted, regardless of your choice, and be sure to let us know of any game-related webcomics you stumble upon this week!
