I'm going to buy this, despite the fact that I already own the game for the PC. Why you ask? Because since it's a port to the 360, the framerate is bound to a huge improvement, along with the texture quality, HDR effects, and furthermore, an overall better game. Also, i'm quite suprised they decided to place Portal into the mix, and i'm actually delighted to hear it. I was hyped with the Portal trailer for the PC, and now i'm stoked to hear that it will be fully available for the 360.

Even if I didn't buy it at launch, it's inevitable that I would buy this game later. It's just the fact that there are many games shoved into one. All of the Half-Life 2 parts, Portal, Team Foretress 2, Counter-Strike, AND Portal? Myself being a very large fan of thre Valve games myself would run 100 miles for this package. Through the graphics upgrades and the obvious online play, this makes for a great package, no matter how you look at it. Even if Portal was released as a completely seperate game, I would buy it. Each game has their own fans... I'm gonna buy this just because I love everything thats come out of Valve so far.

Pushing the Mouse and Keyboard/Controller Pad discussion, you guys shouldn't be getting so worked up about this. I know how it is when your using a mouse, you have much more control over your players view. The keyboard supports many things, but really doesn't make much of a difference in my opinion. The only things it's useful for is console commands and in-game chat. Usually, 360 games wouldn't have a need for console commands or in-game type chat, because of the microphone.

From what I think, a controller pad actually pushes a games excitement. If someones behind you, find some cover! Theres no way you would be able to turn around that fast in real life. It just pushing the reality of the game. This isn't saying that the controller is overall better, i'm trying to say that they pretty much close eachother out. They both have their features, and they both have their faults. If everyone could stop trying to prove eachother wrong and share their opinions calmly, we would be getting somewhere.

I find it ridiculous that Microsoft wouldn’t make a keyboard and mouse option for the Xbox 360 customers, after-all this console is the future terminal for server based services and distributed computing (points to Microsoft Live)

Also, I don't understand this need to make everyone use the same input device and why this is considered a good thing. Whether you use a Keyboard and mouse or a game controller this shouldn't matter, unless you believe the keyboard and mouse gives some sort of advantage, but thinking like this leads to things like demanding we balance experienced players with new players. For example, experienced players should have a one second delay before their weapons fire, just to make it fair for the new players to aim. Don't you agree that’s silly? To me it sounds about as silly as trying to even the playing field by making everyone use the same input device, it’s just an input device, let them use what they feel comfortable with.

In closing, I agree that system performance (i.e. processor, graphics co-processor, etc), connection speed and operating system should be balanced, but the input device is just a personal preference (even NASCAR let's teams choose their style and dimension of the steering wheel).
