Cartoon Network is bringing its IPs into the online world with its own MMO title. Developed by Seoul-based Grigon Entertainment (Seal Online), the game is confirmed to feature characters from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Ben 10, and Kids Next Door. The game will be free to download, but subscriptions and micro-transactions will be "available to players to enhance the gaming experience." Cartoon Network will launch the title, it hopes, in Spring of 2008.This deal is smart for both companies: Cartoon Network gets an established developer to create a franchise title that may actually be fun, while Grigon Entertainment will get some exposure in the United States -- a market in which Grigon currently has no presence.
If this works out, how about someone make an Adult Swim MMOG? It'd be great, where you could make your own food-related avatar and have Brock teach you 3 million ways to kill a 12 oz. mouse.

I used to think that too, until I saw "Hypno-Germ".
Myself, I can't stand 12 Oz. Mouse, Squidbillies, Perfect Hair Forever, or Minoriteam. But I'm sure each of those shows has fans who rabidly defend them, whilst hating on shows I like such as Robot Chicken and Super Milk Chan.
Takes all kinds, I guess.

What either eludes people, or what people don't notice about it, is that it's really, REALLY, fucking funny. Especially the red beam sight on the murdering bean's glock.
"I AM"
"Sofa King"
"We Todd Ed."
one last one.
"this is all too busy!"

I'll admit to liking Code Name: Kids Next Door and Ben 10 (the latter has really picked up as they've started actually advancing a storyline much more). However, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends is like Cartoon Network is asking me to change the channel, My Gym Partner's A Monkey is utterly forgettable, Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi somehow manages to make Pink Lady & Jeff look good, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy disgusts me, and the less said about Ed, Edd, & Eddy, the better.
It's not that Cartoon Network hasn't had good original shows, it's just that they usually don't pick up as well (Megas XLR is golden, Whatever Happened To Robot Jones was classic, and I have a soft spot for Sheep In The City). It'll probably do well and be boring as all heck.
As for Adult Swim... what, no love for Harvey Birdman? It's like pure, lawyerly goodness.... in my pants.

A lot of CN's newer stuff has been... mediocre, at best. I haven't watched much of Ben 10, so I really can't comment on that.
Personally, I like Ed, Edd, 'n Eddy. At least, the older stuff. The newer episodes (which have them going to school and junk) just don't seem as good as the older ones.
Billy & Mandy... The pilot was great. The series... has had its moments. But I liked the former other half of the time slot (Evil Con Carne) more.
And all the other junk... is just meh.
Powerpuff Girls used to be pretty good. Then came the movie, and I think it went downhill from there.
Funny thing is, I noticed that with Dexter's Lab as well. After the mini-movie (Ego Trip, which was awesome), the series took a nose dive (from the overhaul in the art style, the change in Dexter's VA, and overall being less funny than the older eps).
Johnny Bravo was good stuff. Mostly, anyways.
Cow & Chicken/I.M. Weasel were also great.
Courage the Cowardly Dog was a show I wished didn't die.
Samurai Jack and MEGAS XLR were GREAT and I can't fathom why they would let such great shows die like they did.
Seems that CN lets all the good shows die off, while they keep on pumping out the crap (Kids Next Door).
An MMO based on [adult swim] would be great, if it included ALL of the properties shown on [as] (including the anime... but maybe not Saved by the Bell). If it was an Smash Bros. or Jump Superstars kind of game, it'd be the best thing ever.
