Guild Wars: Nightfall announced
NCsoft has announced the third Guild Wars campaign, Nightfall, which will have an exclusive PvP preview for current members on July 28-30. Like its predecessors, Nightfall is a standalone module with a new continent to explore, and will only require the earlier games if you have characters to transfer. However, veterans might be tempted to start fresh with one of the two new professions -- the angelic Paragon or the scythe-wielding Dervish, both of which are previewed at GameSpot. Visit the game's official web site for more details on the Nightfall preview event, as well as updates on the Guild Wars Factions Championship.

Damn they didn't waste any time getting this one out did they? I have yet to buy Factions..although I probably won't in the long run. I only play PvP since the RPG mode is rather boring.

They've said all along new Chapters would be coming every 6 months as tehy have 2 dev teams. I'd think for PvP you would want the new chapters for the added skills and new professions. They have certainly been a boon to us.
You may want to look at Factions at some point, PvE was a bit faster and more condensced. I enjoyed prophecies, but did feel some middle sections wre kinda slow.
Anyways, looking forward to the preview. Now if only those extra character slots would get here.

I hope the Dervish isn't just an Assasin with a bigger weapon like it sounds like it's going to be... But the Paragon sounds pretty badass.

Wow, two more professions. It is going to be really tough for them to keep coming up with 2 professions every new chapter. The combinations and balance issues will increase exponentially. Kudos for them for their ambition though, and if anyone is going to pull it off, it will be ArenaNet. Their game engine is so awesome, it puts Blizzard and the WoW engine to shame.

Guild wars was my first MMO. I played it for about 3 weeks and have never touched it since (I really should sell it).
Having so many classes to choose from bothered me. I like to have everything in a game and choosing my class resticted me from getting certain spells. New clases just means I would have to start all over again killing uselesss monsters (you have to kill so much)
I also did not like the game because It is very hard to advance in the story by yourself and when you play with others, you just feel like a sheep as the battle end so quick and you feel you were not even needed?
I guess I just dont like mmorpgs. Or perhaps I would rather play a real time action one rather then a click and use spells one (do they exsist?)

007, if you don't like a basic feature like having to choose a class for your character, then you have no business playing a game like Guild Wars or World of Warcraft. Stick with other genres.

Ben: Dervishes can become avatars of the gods, Assassins cannot. That's the most striking major difference that I can see.
