Oh man, I was a huge fan of the TFC mod of HL1. I thought it was way better than CS. The art direction in this version looks amazing!

holy crap! i didn't even like the original team fortress but i'm totally psyched for this version. the new art direction totally complements the kind of gameplay that game offers (from what i played of it anyway). gg valve, gg.

Wow. There's no better way to say this other than "awesome."

I hope the gameplay keeps up with the graphics, because you know a Counterstrike-esque game packaged in cartoony graphics would be a flop. It just wouldn't feel right. So, let's hope they get the sort of crazy, frenetic gameplay to go along with the crazy graphics.

Wow, if this all done in real-time I'm really impressed. And yes, this really look like The Incredible meet TF.

I just hope EP:2 will be better than EP:1 (EP:1 was not bad... maybe my expectation were too high).

This Will Be So Awesome! Anyone who has a problem with this don't bother posting because there's no point in complaining. Just don't play it.

The graphics will be so fun and I'm sure the level designs are going to be unbelievable. Valve has done it again and this time they went all out.

Sadly, I can just see a Jack Thompson press release brewing.

"Valve is styling their ultra violent video games after popular children's movies. It's the same thing the tabacco companies once did with cartoon characters in their advertising. They're trying to coerce our children into associating Pixar-style animation with violence. It's reprehensible and Valve should not be allowed to publish this game."

It doesn't make much sense, but that's how his logic works.

I really love the stylized graphics of this game (from what they've shown so far). It's not uber realistic but video games don't have to be. Mark of Kri didn't look super realistic, it couldn't have, but what it lacked in realistic scenery and character models it made up with it's own unique style. If the gameplay is there, this will be boat loads of fun.

Funny how I was reading on some other forum about TF2. Everyone was complaining about how the game looked too cartoon like and they wouldn't play it. They wanted realistic.

I like it when things get shaken up. People complained about Zelda: Wind Waker being cell shaded, but I thought it was awesome!!

TF2 looks cool and I really look forward to it.

I agree with the mass-majority here: the new look is absolutely fantastic, and will help to seperate TF from the more tranditional (see. boring) stylings of its brothers-in-arms.

Wah Wah it's too kiddie. I only feel like a man when the fictional characters I control wear butt-ugly body armor and cause unrealistically large amounts of blood to spew out, not unrealistically small amounts.

Question: are "mature" games really more juvenile than games like this? They seemed to be adored by 13 year olds, and thus I say: yes, yes they are.

I have been patiently waiting for a new Team Fortress for years now. I played TFC religiously throughout high school on my crappy dial-up computer. The art direction is going to take some getting used to, but the most imporant aspect of the game will be the gameplay. That was what made TFC, and it will make this game too.

I cannot wait.

Dissapointing new art direction but I will still play it because Valve is good at producing multiplayer fun. I attempted to play TFC the other day but all the servers are mostly bot filled :(

On a side note due to the decision on the art for TF2, Wind Waker cell shaded was crap. Twilight Princess looks and I bet will play much better.

It's kinda pathetic that people will hate on a game for the only reason b/c it doesn't resemble eveything else in the crowd.

I wasn't in that crowd! on the visual side I don't care for anything without good art direction, and this has it. by the frikkin bucket loads. I never upgraded my system for smoother HDR, but I will upgrade to get this looking at it's best. I cannot wait.

I've long yearned for someome to make a game that would bring back the fun of Mods like Chaos Quake.

Hope they have lots of humorous traps, weapons and sounds that match the pixar look. This could be a really fun title.

Realism is a bore. Don't we play games to escape it after all?

Who's worse: the person that doesn't like a game's particular art style, or the person that doesn't like someone else's opinion of a particular art style?

Seriously, some people here need to chill. Personally, I love the look of the game. I can completely understand if someone wants a different style, though. More often than not, I'd prefer something to look realistic as opposed to having more "style", the same way I prefer realistic paintings to abstract or impressionist paintings.

We all have our opinions, and that's great. But let's not go crazy bashing other people's completely subjective opinions on a particular art style.

(And please, don't go crazy applying these comments to yourself. Most people are fine. There's a few, though, that are all uppity about others not liking the style.)

I have no problem not liking certain styles. What irritates me though are the people who say "Oh ______ is crap!" and then don't give a logical reason why they hate something. All they know is that they hate it.

Just to clarify for rabid fanboi GSI who doesn't think that people are entitled to opinions against his beloved Nintendo and probably won't even read this, I will list a few reasons why Wind Waker sucked (compared to every other Zelda out there). To counter your arguement, just because a game is different than the rest of the crowd, doesn't make it a great game.

I admit compared to many other games Wind Waker is decent. Now compared to the rest of the Zelda series, it is a dissapointment. Here are a few of the main points that instilled my dissapointment.

1. It was more of a boat sim than a dungeon crawler.
2. Not only where there less dungeons but the vast majority of them where more simplistic to the much superior designs in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. 3.I don't consider a one or two room hole on an island a dungeon.
3. The collection quests got repetitive even for a Nintendo game.
3. Tingle (need I say more?)

God this looks freakin' great. Team Fortress wasn't much of a realistic game to begin with (using a rocket launcher to shoot yourself up a wall???) so I feel like stylized art is a much better direction for the series.

Plus, I'm a huge fan of Pixar films. This will be great.

No GSI, you're a rabid fanboi for taking offense at my differing opinion of a game.

It's a shame that you resort to bashing someone else's opinions and think that everyone should agree with you on likes and dislikes. You say you don't care if someone doesn't like something and should back up the claim. Now that I've done that that you don't seem to have any valid points to retort with. Ponder it while you sit at your computer wondering why you've been called a rabid fanboi for defending a game that someone else dislikes even though you think it's the best thing since sliced bread and you think everyone else should too.

BTW, your mom helped me with that one.

Had you made those points from the very beginning then none of this would have happened in the first place. I responded that way b/c people (most likely you included) bitched and complained about how the game looked before even trying the damn thing.
