Team Fortress 2 is so 'incredibles'
56
Valve released this teaser trailer for Team Fortress 2 today. The game is definitely funked out with a Pixar-esque twist. Now couple this with what we saw in the Portal peek yesterday, throw in HL2 with Episodes 1 & 2 tacked on, and Valve looks to be on the verge of releasing an uber-impressive package for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 -- and hopefully in time for the holidays. Happy, happy. Joy, joy.
A note from Valve PR: All the footage shown in this trailer was created using Source. Some of the effects, namely depth of field and motion blur, were applied via post-processing features built into the Source engine technology.

... I don't even like these sorts of games. But the trailer was VERY impressive and got me interested.
I apologize if this comment seems dumb, but is this game multiplayer only? I don't really like to play with others (especially since I'm very bad at playing FPS games) but I could totally see a one player game using these characters. Like some of the earlier Rainbow Six games, only a lot more fun to play. :)

Ah GSI,
Now that you've copped to the problem, the next step is working on respecting other people's opinions because they differ from yours and not expecting everyone to spell things out for your narrowminded thinking.

This really sucks. The trailer is awesome and would make a gret if not awesome Saturday morning cartoon, hell Id even go see this on the big screen.
As a hardcore TFCr who played countless hours, tons of clan matchs and even made several TFc sites this is a huge disappointment.
Ive even left Half-Life altogether something I would have never saw coming. But BF2 was so TFCish and so TF2 Brotherhood in Arms ish.
Thanksfully a mod team called Fortress Forever never thoguht they were gonna release TF2 so they went and built a real TFC2. It should be in Public Beta this month. Im willing to bet after they get the bugs out it will be closer to what many of us hardcore TFC guys wanted then TF2 will ever be now.
Well Ill just have to wait for TF3 and see if like Mitsubishi did with their awesome Eclipse, go back to waht made it great, after a release that nearly killed the model.

"Originally planned as a free mod for Quake II, development on Team Fortress 2 switched to the GoldSrc Half-Life engine in 1998[5] after the development team (consisting of Robin Walker and John Cook) were first contracted and finally flat-out employed by Valve Corporation, then merely Valve Software.
The original plan at Valve was also to release TF2 as a free add-on, this time to Half-Life, but as development progressed it was decided to move production up a notch and make the game standalone. To bide fans over (since, as well as time issues,
many of TF's player base had purchased Half-Life solely in anticipation of TF2's free release),
work began on a simple port of the game which was released in 1999 for free as Team Fortress Classic."
Weapon's Factory took it's place for Quake 2.
This game is still Vaporware to me till it comes out. We have heard it all many times before.
