What's the dilyo?

I can't say I missed him in the movies or that I'll go looking for him in this game.

I hear they also threw him in Battle for Mid-Earth 2.

Well, if this game is anything like the book, Tom just might save your ass a few times. Remember the Barrow-wights?

Tom Bombadil was one of Tolkiens favorite character.

"What's the dily....o?"

I love it when people who are probably fans of the movies, but have never picked up the books comment on this stuff.

To me, slighting Tom Bombadil in the movies was an injustice second only to not making "The Hobbit" into a feature movie while they had the resources at their disposal. Then again, that's probably just me...the literate fan.

Unfortunatley, they couldn't make The Hobbit due to legal issues.

here here, Sgtmackenzie... I was upset that Peter dropped Bombadil from the movie, yet had the nerve to make up some parts that clearly were not in the books. Throwing a few lines to Treebeard (RotK Ext.Vers.) was too little - too late.

As for the Hobbit (I would love to see it made also), I heard that he couldn't get the rights as they are owned by different people.

According to my free issue of EGM here (thanks again, Joystiq), Thranduil (Legolas's dad) and Gloin (Gimli's dad) also play major roles. You get to play in the City of Dale (in the shadows of Lonely Mountain) and Mirkwood (spider-infested forest), from The Hobbit.

Haven't there been about three Lord of the Rings MMOs by now?

This one'll get canned too, methinks. Or, wait, now the trend is to release them and let them die a quiet death.
