This is THE PSP game that I've looked forward to the most ever since hearing about it. I'm a huge Dreamcast fan, so when any of its games show up on a new console, it gets me interested. Thankfully, Capcom is bringing Power Stone Collection to the PSP. The Collection will have both Power Stone and Power Stone 2, as well as an assortment of new additions, like weapons and magical items.
In case you are some unfortunate soul who's never experience the greatness of Power Stone, it's a four-player 3D fighting game, somewhat similar to Super Smash Bros. Players can interact quite a bit with the environment and attempt to collect Power Stones that pop up randomly on the battlefield. Once collected, the player goes into apeshit mode and proceeds to start tearing apart their opponents.
Capcom has put the PSP's widescreen to good use in Collection as it will enable players to use the entire screen to view the action and will allow you to switch from widescreen to mid- and close-range views at an instant. Also, the game will allow players to battle it out in Ad/Hoc mode and up to four players can play on a single UMD via Game Sharing mode.
The new additions aren't finished there, hell no. Capcom has instituted a screenshot system into Collection, so you can keep that pic of you kicking your grandfather's ass in the game forever. How priceless will that be? Players will simply pause the game, move the camera to just the right angle and press a button to snap the picture. And if all that wasn't enough, four of the new characters who appeared in Power Stone 2 will be playable in the original. Look for the game to be released sometime this fall or winter. Please tell me, guys, that I'm not the only one this excited about Collection.
