Get this, so, some anonymous source -- don't worry, this source is, like, totally "in the know" -- has tipped off a blog -- okay, not just any blog, but GamerAndy.com -- and ... you ready ... Red Octane & Harmonix are developing a version of Guitar Hero II for Xbox 360! Rock! On!Alright, so it's just a rumor without a credited source, but it's at least worth entertaining the possibilities: a wireless 'guitar' ... downloadable tracks ... Xbox Live battles! Please...
Guitar Hero II is scheduled for release in November on PS2. Neither Red Octane, Harmonix, or Microsoft has confirmed -- or even hinted at -- a version for Xbox 360. As always, take any rumor with a grain of salt (but it doesn't hurt to keep your fingers crossed).

Maybe GH3 will have that option and be available on all 3 next gen consoles? I know that's thinking too far ahead, but man would that be sweet. Especially if you could compete cross-console.

Now what concerns me is I thought GH was published by SCEA.

"Now what concerns me is I thought GH was published by SCEA."
They published the ps2 version... doesnt mean they have any exclusivity to the game and it certainly has no bearing on future versions.

Don't be ridiculous. For that price, you could get a PS3.

that being said, if the guitars are wireless...i'll buy them again and sell my PS2 controllers.

"11. To the guy who says Harmonix Loves Sony, Remember Keroke (or however you spell that) Revolution was on the Xbox."
Karaoke Revolution is made by Bemani, part of Konami responsible for DDR, Para Para, Guitar Freaks, Drum Mania, etc.

They also said they're not adverse to publishing on multiple consoles. So, if the Wii does well, I'd bet that in order for them to make money, they'd consider it.
And FWIW, karaoke is a japanese word and is pronounced/spelled as such. Ka-ra-o-ke (pr. Cah-rah-okay)

so i think its a very good chance

I distinctly remember them saying they would bring it out for 360 and PS3.
Hopefully they can have a wireless guitar. That would truly ROCK!

no but seriously... the wire adds to the "realism" of playing a real electric guitar.
and karaoke revolution was from a different company.

Don't make me declare Shenanigans!
As nice as it would be to see Guitar Hero 2 on the Xbox 360, I sincerely doubt it.

As long as they don't reduce the number of fret buttons, or add more than 1 or 2, I'll be happy, wire or not.

I feel pretty confident that it will show its head on the 360. Activision has rights to it now and it seems that exclusive 3rd party titles are going the way of the Dodo.

BUT IF THEY DONT HAVE PROGRESSIVE SCAN IN GH2 on PS2, I WILL BE PISSED!! Right now, its pretty much impossible to play GH on HDTV, has to upscale to either 720p or 1080p (1080 for me), but the main thing is de-interlace it, which causes a half-second delay or so = not good for timing rhythm game!
I'm fine either way, GH2 is going to ROCK!

As to you Live monkeys: Both of Harmonix' previous games Frequency and Amplitude were playable online on the PS2. It doesn't take MS and a $30 a year fee to play games online.
To be honest, Frequency and Amplitude were much more fun face to face than online, and Guitar Hero 2 probably will be too.

I think I'll probably pick one up when GH2 comes out. Unless there is something better about the guitar that would come with that game.

I hope they make a PS3 version though.. the online battles idea and downloadable songtracks is such an awesome idea.. *mouth waters*.

Xbox Live is 50 US dollars per year
Also if Guitar Hero II came out on 360, it would be $80 or even $90 for the game with a wireless controller.
And if you would add $50(cost of 360 wireless controller) and $60(majority of 360 game prices) thats $110.
If this rumor were true, the 360 version will be expensive.
This is really of topic too but Nintendo is repairing DS Lite cracked hinges for free, just call customer support and they will send you a UPS sticker and mail it back to you fixed in two to three weeks

will be using a new controller, cause ms/sony ainn't gonna allow other controllers on... unless someone like liksang or whoever makes unofficial adapter... hadn't said if its wireless or not
gh2/360 will have some new graphicks but same rock stylin'
xbox live will be there for some basic stuff (downloads, i guess, he didn't say), but more advanced things like online jamming will have to wait, just too much to do at this time

If GH2 does come out on the 360, I will be the first person in the shop to buy a copy. That would heal the gaping wound Dead Rising has left me with! I never thought that such a simple game could bring me so much joy!
It needs to have some face melting Slash solo's, and more Hendrix.
Rock On
