Sega VP Scott Steinberg claims his company didn't miss the holiday Wii boat but believes other publishers made "a massive error" by not supportting first-generation Wii games. He states: "Some third parties have shown a lack of imagination when dealing with this new platform. The way the Wii is being built you have to design for it. Ports and upgrades are no good."Steinberg also claims that Sega was one of the few publishers to have a successful GameCube run, despite it's lower than expected sales. If that's the case, it seems obvious that Sega would have an easier time supporting Nintendo's next-generation console early on whereas many third-party publishers lost money on the 'Cube.
