When it comes to the Virtual Console, sames such as Zelda (that came with the huge overworld map) or Final Fantasy 1 (which came with multiple weapons, monsters and dungeon maps).. if these games are available, what will they do for the assisting documentation?

.. allow the user to pause, and bring up the original included documents for viewing on the screen? .. that would be great, but I haven't heard anything about anything on the topic..

I would really hope for "Rock'N Roll Racing" on the SNES, which is one of the best racing game ever in my opinion.

They mention 3 Rare games, which will never show up on VC. Killer Instinct and Perfect Dark might show up on Xbox Live Arcade, but don't hold your breath for GoldenEye 64. First, it was developed by Rare, which complicates things. But since it was based on the Bond license and only Activision can publish Bond games now, it would be a licensing nightmare.

Another problem I see is that a lot of these games existed before the ESRB, so there is no rating on them. Are they going to submit hundreds of titles to the ESRB to be rated individually? Or are they going to create their own rating system for classic games? I haven't heard anything about that, but it seems like it would be a concern, especially for Nintendo.

As for their Most Wanted list, it's mostly 3rd party games from companies that haven't announced support yet. However, once Konami, Namco, Capcom, and SqaureEnix jump on board, the VC will be unstoppable.

Punch-Out!! is a safe bet... but definitely not with Mike Tyson.

It's going to be interesting seeing how VC stacks up with Live Arcade on third party classics. I'm sure upcoming XBLA games like Contra will make their way to VC.... the difference between 480p and 720p (with sidebars, most likely) will make for interesting debate.

Anyway, my vote goes to The Adventures of Bayou Billy, because it just has to be played to believe just how bad it is. Worst Christmas present ever, thanks a lot Santa.

I would personally choose StarFox 64 from that top 15 list, since it is only like the best game ever.

Argh, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark won't be on virtual console, Rare already said none of their games would. Anyhow, here's my top 15:

15. Mario All-Stars + World - With a modification to play the original NES music (I didn't like the remixes in SMAS), this would be awesome. I am including the two together because they were released together in a single SNES cartridge late in it's life cycle.

14. The Guardian Legend - Though not very well acknowledged anymore, this game was great, and offered a higher difficulty than similar games of the time.

13. Yoshi's Cookie - I'd much prefer this to Tetris, and I wonder why Nintendo hasn't done much with it since its original release. Pure awesome, and it would be really nice if they could add more puzzles to puzzle mode.

12. Tetris & Dr. Mario - This game could be reworked to support 4-Players in Mixed Match mode (by emulating the SNES Multitap) to bring new life. The inclusion of Dr. Mario and high multiplayer value is what puts it better than Yoshi's Cookie.

11. Super Bomberman 5 - Though only released in Japan, this game was, quite possibly, the best Bomberman game ever. With plenty of levels, and more powerups than any of the previous games, this managed to retain classic Bomberman gameplay and feel fresh at the same time.

10. Mario Party 3 - Even though the series got repetitive, it's still worth the time to own just one, and this was the best Pre-GameCube version released.

9. Donkey Kong Country 2 - Though not as innovative as the third in the series, this game had the great gameplay of the first, and the best character from the third. Also, it didn't have the "Krack-Shot Croc" level from DKC3 that made it so irritating.

8. Mario Tennis - No comment, just fun.

7. Super Metroid - A perfect example of what makes a good platformer. If only it was a little more linear.

6. Castlevania Dracula X - The TurboGrafx version was great to listen to, if nothing else. With Nintendo's looser stance on censorship than in the past, this should have no problem making the cut, assuming the execs know the difference between this and the SNES game of the same name.

5. Yoshi's Island - This game is so long that it is, by far, one of the most worthwhile games possible, especially since the entire game is fun and not too repetitive.

4. Sonic 3 & Knuckles - A game that should only be experienced in it's true form, these two games put together make, as far as I'm concerned, the best Sonic game ever.

3. Mario Paint - This would need reworked to use the Wii-mote, but I'm assuming that that's possible for the virtual console. This would work well with the new controls, especially the coffee-break minigame.

2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Since there is already a GCN version of OoT and MM, this is logically the most important. Also, this game was another long one that would be worth the small amount of money.

1. Tetris Attack - Though a tad obscure for a number one, this was my favorite game on the SNES. More complicated than most other puzzle games, this game requires enormous amounts of quick strategy to be a true master. Even though the N64 Pokémon Puzzle League had more features, such as 3D mode, Tetris Attack had a magic that Pokémon Puzzle League didn't.

Games that almost made my list:

Super Mario 64 - Though quite innovative, this game doesn't have enough replay value for those that have already beat it. SM64DS is more worth the time.

Super Smash Bros. - Though fun, this doesn't have much that Melee doesn't, with the major exception of Hyrule Castle.

Yoshi's Story - Exceedingly fun, but way too short. Most players can beat the game in just over an hour.

Paper Mario - I forgot to put it on the list, so it didn't make the cut.

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - Didn't make it because it's already available as part of Collector's Edition, just like OoT and MM.

Also Super Mario RPG.

As much as I enjoyed the Paper Mario games, the characters that made up your party in SMRPG were far better than PM. Geno and Mallow! I give credit for character development to Square.

I wonder why those two characters never showed up in Mario Party or sports games...

I love the Mario RPGs (Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG)so I can't wait for them. The most legendary game on the N64 apart from Goldeneye was Mario Tennis so I'll get that too. It's just so disappointing to here about Rare games not making it for the final shebang.

Dracula Jones, those characters are owned by Square, that's why.

David Hinkle, don't you meant that All-Stars is four games? SMB, SMB: LL (or SMB2 in Japan), SMB2 (or SMUSA in Japan), and SMB3.

I would love to see Super Metroid come in a pack with Metroid 2, Metroid It would be cool but it would be even cooler if they had extra stuff that allows you to play the original 3 metroids but running of the Metroid Zero Mission engine.

I would Also Like to see many games packaged at a lower cost than buying the games seperate; Donkey Kong, Mario, Final Fantasy, Battletoads, Arcade Classics, Bomberman, Sonic the Hedgehog, Breath of Fire, the Legend of Zelda, Seiken Densetsu (translated of course) Kirby, Mother, and that only covers the Snes collection of what I can remeber. althought many of them games are owned by other companies so it is really just wishful thinking.

Personally, I want to see the games we missed on here in the west. This includes Famicom Wars, Fire Emblem, Tactics Ogre and Sin and Punishment. My God they so need that. If it WAS available and was out on release I'd be playing that before touching my Zelda, Metroid and Wii Sports.

1. The original Actraiser I'll still play because I enjoy the sim game (even if it's really way too simple).
2. Killer Instinct: Bah.
3. I remember PS4 being even more expensive than $75....
4. Super Bomberman 1 is better than Super Bomberman 2 - both in single player and multiplayer.
5. Battletoads is overrated: there is a late-game bug that makes it impossible to get to the last level with a second player.
6. Ninja Gaiden is overrated: the characters have no sense of weight. The early Castlevania series, which NG cribs from heavily, is superior in most ways.
7. Zombies Ate My Neighbors, on the other hand, is AWESOME.
8. But then they went and left off ToeJam & Earl, wasting all the positive karma they got for including ZAMN.

I grew up with Nintendo. I got the NES when I was 5, so I hit up a lot of the greatest games throughout my childhood. I'm looking forward to playing them again, but I'm more excited about getting the games that I never had back then.

The biggest thing for me is the pricing. If they stick with the games being $5 or less, I'll buy a ton. If they go past that, I'll only have a couple. I imagine a lot of us feel the same way. Hopefully Nintendo is smart enough to not over-price their wares.

¨"5. Battletoads is overrated: there is a late-game bug that makes it impossible to get to the last level with a second player."

I'm not sure what you mean by that "bug" but i have played that game thru with my friends and haven't seen any bug in that game. Sometimes you maybe have to jump and drop in places at almost exactly same time but it isn't impossible. Those stages with somekind of vehicles are quite hell cause you jump back to the checkpoint if other player hits the wall but still that is one of the best cooperative NES games i have ever seen. :)
