Tekken for PSP has an average of 91% and you say nothing's coming out, and you put up a no name GBA game? Geez.
Master X @ Jul 24th 2006 5:02PM
Ill get Galaga for XBLA and Painkiller if its BC
The Rev @ Jul 24th 2006 5:03PM
Yay Galaga
Drew @ Jul 24th 2006 5:04PM
I'm a nintendo fanboy but I'm going to have to agree with #1.
Dan @ Jul 24th 2006 5:05PM
Tekken still sucks.
nootau @ Jul 24th 2006 5:11PM
A gamecube game!
Clint @ Jul 24th 2006 5:13PM
That Tekken game is very good!
spoo @ Jul 24th 2006 5:22PM
CivCity: Rome looks hot!
Wolfrain @ Jul 24th 2006 5:45PM
Tekken: Dark Resurrection needs to be put first and the title needs to be changed to one blockbuster title coming out these week. With scores over 9/10 and no blockbuster and it ain't like Tekken has no brand recognition. Talk about Joystiq being bias.
Colin @ Jul 24th 2006 5:45PM
Come on, Tekken is a pretty damn big name title! And its been getting GREAT reviews.
Whats with the Summon Night graphic? Never even heard of that game.

I agree with joystiq,,,, tekken is a big name but i doubt its going to be a blockbuster on the psp. If it was on a real console maybe but psp come on yall know better
Bloo @ Jul 24th 2006 5:50PM
"That Tekken game is very good!"
Imagine how much better it would be on the 360!
(Answer: none, Tekken sucks anyways)
bv @ Jul 24th 2006 6:23PM
Although i like the 360, Tekken blows Dead or Alive out of the water, no matter which version in the series you compare it to. Same goes for Virtua Fighter and every other 3D fighting game out there.
GSI @ Jul 24th 2006 6:37PM
Tekken...the first GOOD (imo) PSP game in MONTHS.
As much as I LOVE the Tekken series, I'm still selling my PSP.
For all you people saying "Tekken sucks!"..how about giving a REAL opinion instead of just something a 10 yr old would say.
Zajax @ Jul 24th 2006 6:37PM
You know a system is ready to die once generic ATLUS RPGs are the only games coming out for it
Peach @ Jul 24th 2006 7:08PM
I'll be picking Summon Night up this week. I've been calling the EB here for days, hoping they got it in early, but no luck. Looks like a decent story RPG with a welcomed different battle system. It almost reminds me of Tales of Phantasia, but hopefully without any of the slowdown.
K1ller 1ns1nct @ Jul 24th 2006 7:21PM
Both Civ games in the same week? I guess they dont mind competing with themselves.
BPM? @ Jul 24th 2006 8:06PM
Summon Night actually looks pretty cool. I read the preview for it, and it sounded pretty interesting. Kind of an action-RPG with side-scrolling, weapon crafting, etc.
And, FYI, Atlus is only the US publisher. The developer is called Flight-Plan (No, I've never heard of them, either; probably because this is the first title from them to be published in English).
And the Summon Night series actually has quite a few titles, it seems. The second GBA game is coming out here later on, and there are a few PS/PS2 entries. See here:

It is something I plan to pick up sooner or later.
generaldane @ Jul 24th 2006 8:57PM
u will ppl will never understand how happy i am to hear that Summon Night is releasing in english this game fuycking rocks i have been playing the jap version and the battle system kinda reminds me of tales of phantasia anyone who is looking for a good gba game get this i am telling u its awesome
generaldane @ Jul 24th 2006 9:03PM
@Zajax
u fool take that back immediately
as for as i am concern summon night is the best game releasing for this week
have never liked and maybe never will like tekken a matter or fact i generally hate 3d fighting games. the only 3d fighting i can thing of that i like is smash and that doesnt require any explaination now does it? ;)
Dave Silva @ Jul 24th 2006 9:43PM
Man, this is going to sound fanboyish, but considering Atlus' track record with GBA games... there's a good chance that Summon Night will become a sleeper hit and it will be very hard to find.
I'm hoping it becomes popular. Atlus should get more incentive to try and bring more quirky RPGs stateside. Square Enix isn't the only one who can make RPGs, dammit.
apoc06 @ Jul 24th 2006 9:49PM
I second that the blurb is a bit of an insult. Considering the fact that Gamespot scored Tekken:DR as the highest rated psp game, and equal to the highest rated ds game [including the beloved New Super Mario Bros]; I would think Joystiq would want to at /least/ have a passing mention of it, if not top billing. Geez!
Every Tekken since Tekken2 has gone at least platinum. I would consider that the makings of a blockbuster release. Tekken will most likely push more systems than Summon Night.
No disrespect to the Summon Night players here, but most sites don't even bother to review the game. [the reader reviews have been pretty good though...]
generaldane @ Jul 24th 2006 10:26PM
thst the problem i dont give a shit what the sites think or about the review games get what i do care about is if the game appeals to me and who ever said summon night was a system seller i simply said i love it and would rather play it than tekken thats all
Dave Silva @ Jul 24th 2006 10:38PM
@20:
I haven't played the games, but I have very high expectations of it. I'll be seeking out friends who bought it to ask their opinion. If it gets a good opinion all around then I'll buy it.
I really don't trust huge sites like IGN for reviews anymore; they often ignore the lesser-known games and instead go for the ones that are overhyped and such. I now read online opinions and try to base my judgement on that. I am not saying IGN or the like suck... but I have been disappointed by them more than once.
Hamblasto @ Jul 24th 2006 10:53PM
Don't you think that you guys are reading too much into this? So Tekken wasn't mentioned in the little blurb, but is it that big of a deal? I mean most of you noticed that it was on the list anyways.
apoc06 @ Jul 25th 2006 12:59AM
The only reason im defending Tekken:DR is because Mr. Snow took a potshot at this week's list: "Though not busting with game blockbusters".
Tekken:DR is one of the highest rated PSP games. Last week there was an article proclaiming the "Death of the PSP". Joystiq was just reporting the story, and claimed to not have bias against the PSP. Here we have yet another solid title for the PSP and Joystiq wholeheartedly ignored it and fired an insult. It's from a respected series, and seems to be a solid title. In light of all the Joystiq coverage for games that get so-so reviews and sales, to call the games on this list out just because there are no major xbox360 or ps2 releases really undermines /some/ form of bias. For the record, the Tekken series has outsold the Metal Gear, Metroid, Mortal Kombat, FIFA, Halo and Smash Brothers franchises.
I mean how would DS owners feel if Joystiq said something like that on the list that New Super Mario Bros was listed on?
As for the Summon Night fans, Tekken:DR is being bundled with the PSP; it /will/ drive system sales bundle or no. That's all I meant.
Given the love that you guys showed for Summon Night, I wanted to read up on the series, but like I said I couldn't find reviews for it so I don't have any idea what the game is about. I like some of Altus' RPGs and the player reviews were pretty high, so I was thinking of checking it out when I went to buy Tekken:DR.
GSI @ Jul 25th 2006 1:29AM
One game hardly makes the PSP library "bust with blockbusters." Sorry...
x876543 @ Jul 25th 2006 8:44AM
Disappointing... no new DS games. I guess I should play what I have.
Zero_ @ Jul 25th 2006 9:15AM
That's not the point GSI, the point is that, Tekken Dark Ressurection is a critically acclaimed game, and should not just be treated like some 'run down crap' game. Come on Joystiq, Double yoo tee eff?
Scott @ Jul 25th 2006 10:06AM
"I mean how would DS owners feel if Joystiq said something like that on the list that New Super Mario Bros was listed on?"
I wouldn't give a shit because I am older than 10-years old.
dan @ Jul 25th 2006 10:53AM
hmmm bashing atlus RPG's....
sounds like we have ourselves a FF fanboy
you doknow there ARE other RPGs out there that are as good or GASP better than FF's even if not as polished?
its just alot of reviewers just swallow for squaresoft because its cool to do so, talking bad about square is the kiss of death because square makes PRETTY games...and most gamers arent deep enough to look for more than a pretty coating
tekken dark resurrection is a great game
GSI @ Jul 25th 2006 2:33PM
@ Zero_:
That is true...BUT...considering that recent "good" games are next to impossible to find on the system, it's not entirely uncalled for.
doubtful @ Jul 25th 2006 6:31PM
Where's the DS love this week?
GSI @ Jul 26th 2006 2:04AM
Here is some DS love for you...
