Animal Crossing - Most addictive, and the most replayable
Brain Age - Has me hooked.
Advance Wars DS - Fun, too bad I can't get past Mission 12
Mario Kart - DS Wifi Leader
Final Fantasy 3 - Because I love it and it's not even out yet.

So many good games, yet only 5 to choose, let's see:
1. Kirby Canvas Curse- Any platformer this pink puff ball sucks up and spits out is amazing, and this is no exception.
2. Animal Crossing Wild World- A terribly fun game while it lasted, and it lasted a LONG time.
3. Castlevania: Curse of Darkness- Incredible gameplay and incredible fun; never played a Castlevania game before this, and this will get me to buy Portrait of Ruin.
4. New Super Mario Brothers- A great game that gets you back into that Mushroom Kingdom platformer mood, that is just a great game.
5. LostMagic- Loved this game, until the ultimate Dragon missions were just so hard that I wanted to break my DS in half, although it might still have worked :O.
There are plenty of great DS games, which made it hard to choose my favorites, but these WILL be replaced with the upcoming DS games.

Yay for not having mario kart, animal crossing and kirby canvas curve, three games I feel are overrated.

My list would be:
1. Advance Wars DS - countless hours of addicting strategy. I've played for 50+ hours already (or so it says) and still have only half the medals.
2. Castlevania - The most absorbing game on the DS. I sat down one afternoon to try it and didn't stop playing for hours on end.
3. New Super Mario Brothers - The new abilities are really neat and the chance to play new levels make this an addicting game. If only I could reach the two worlds that seem to be optional, I'd be in true bliss.
4. Meteos - Because for the first 8 months or so that the DS was out, this was the only game I had to show people at Best Buy in order to convince them the DS was fun.
5. Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time - What can I say, the game is damned funny. Well worth playing.

1. Animal Crossing - Beyond the addictiveness of the basic gameplay, the WiFi opens up a massive community for creativity and fun. There's so much to do, so much to collect, and there's such a strong camaraderie amongst players.

2. Mario Kart DS - I've been a fan of the franchise since the SNES days, and MKDS feels like a culmination of all of its predecessors into one awesome package. It's damn near flawless for what it is.

3. Tetris - It's freaking Tetris. The only way you can beat a classic round of Tetris is to add all kinds of wacky, fun play modes and allow you to play with three friends across the world at the same time.

4. Metroid Prime: Hunters - Incredibly fluid controls, multiplayer that rivals most PC first person shooters, and graphics so beautiful they almost have no place being on a handheld.

5. Tony Hawk's American Sk8land - Most people will think this is an odd choice, but I've been enamored with the series since day one (aside from THUG2 and Wasteland), and the concept of playing a good-looking, 3D sequel on a handheld, along with the ability to challenge people the world over, was and is very appealing to me.

3. Age of Empire - More good strategy gaming.

5. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney / JPN-style humor that I love, and good characters. I wanted to love it more but there wasn't enough character development. Still stuck on case 3...

4. Mario Kart DS / It's been a long time since my last MK game (N64) so I fell for this hard when I was trying to beat it. I don't have enough people to play multiplayer with this but it's great when I do.

3. Bleach DS [JPN] / Great fighting game that reminds me of the Versus games (MvC, MvC2, etc.). A lot of unlockables, great download play, and wifi mode to challenge yourself against others all over the world. I also like the Bleach manga so I fell for it even more.

2. Ossu! Tatakae! Ouendan! [JPN] / Great rhythm game on the DS and it can get extremely hard. The music is good to pretty good for the most part and it's just so fun to play or watch friends/family play. The "plot" for each song is nonsensical but I'm used to this kind of humor. I watch a ton of anime and read two tons of manga...

1. New Super Mario Bros. / Can't say I loved the powerups as much as the ones in SMB3 but I loved double; triple-jumps and walljumping. I *did* love the mega mushroom in Mario vs. Luigi, though. Everyone I play with after getting that starts screaming loudly and the other player is running scared.

Awesome! Maybe there should be a poll for the readers favorite games! Or maybe not... there are so many to choose from. Anyway, here are my choices:

1. New Super Mario Bros. - Even after you've beaten the game, you'll still have lots of multiplayer mini-games to master with your friends.

2. Animal Crosssing: Wild World - Although mainly the same game as the Gamecube version, DS to DS and WiFi play make this game much more addicting than the original. Play this game with friends.

3. Nintendogs - It's so much cooler than the Tamagotchi... not to mention more fun.

4. Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! (Elite Beat Agents) -It's an addictive beat rhythmic gameplay that utilizes the stylus. The music and comic book style compliment the game's playful art style.

5. Feel the Magic XY/XX - If you like stylus minigames, this one is great. Warioware doesn't do it for me, but this one is pretty sweet.

If I were to recommend five DS games to anyone, these would be it. They're fun and easy to play on the go. My list may change when Zelda: Phantom Hourglass or Final Fantasy III is released.

1. New Super Mario Bros. - Short, but fun. I could sit down and look for all those star coins forever.
2. Metroid Prime: Hunters - I thought it was an amazing piece of gaming. Who knew a HANDHELD shooter could be so well put together? And I, too, can never win on Wi-Fi.
3. Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time - Addictive RPG, charming story/characters, fun battles with neat bosses. Though I thought the last boss battle was LENGHTY.
4. Mario Kart DS: This is the reason I bought the DS. Before it came out, I thought the DS was a gimmick and I was still carrying my PSP around - for showing pictures mostly.
5. Tetris DS: I downloaded the Push Mode demo from a Download Station and was hooked (and amazing by what a great marketing technique that DS stations are). It such a good way to just waste 5 mins. while you wait for someone.

I don't have Castlevania DS but I've heard such good things about that I meant to buy it but my Best Buy was out so I picked up Sonic Rush instead -- pretty neat game, but I'm sure Castlevania woulda been better.

1. Sonic Rush - I cannot get enough of this game. I just love the 2D speed! I have scored an S on every single level...several times.

2. Brain Age - Not only did I use this to prep my brain before every college exam, I also used it to show my friends who was teh boss.

3. New Super Mario Bros - If it wasn't for the Blue Turtle Shell, I would not like this game. There, I said it.

4. Mario Kart - If it wasn't for the Blue Turtle Shell, I would love this game. There, I said it.

5. Electroplankton - It's one of those games you catch yourself playing at 4:00 AM on a Saturday morning while lying in your bed. To you, it sounds like Mozart is using a black little stylus to compose another symphony. To others, it sounds like a random mix of beeps and boops.

Special Mention:
Nintendogs - This game would not be my 6th or even my 7th, but it may appear in my Top 10. Nintendogs was the reason I bought the DS. I was really in to Tamogatchis (well, Digimon) and this seemed like a new age digipet. Also, it IS a chic magnet. When I showed it to my friend at her dorm, 5 minutes after I turned on the game, eight girls surrounded the DS, ooing and awwing at the dogs fighting over the rope.

1) Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan - I freakin' heart this game madly. I beat it completely (save for getting all S ranks) in 4 days because I played non-stop, literally. I love the music too and listen to it on my iPod everyday.

2) Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - The first game to really challenge my logical thinking. Great humor, great cases, and you get to interrogate a freakin' parrot!

3) Animal Crossing: Wild World - Got this game the day it came out and have been playing just about everyday religiously. Sure, I don't play it as long as I had before (I used to be so addicted; fishing for hours on end), but I just can't let my neighbors move out! Someone save me and get this game out of my possession.

4) Pac Pix - I really thought this game was magical and completely underrated. It's such a blast seeing your own Pacman drawings come to life. The levels are gradually challenging and can get very frustrating, but it's totally immersive (even if it doesn't last long).

5) Mario Kart DS - The best Mario Kart made. Multiplayer ruled and just about anyone can pick it up and enjoy.

But I've gotta give honorable mention to Brain Age, Big Brain Academy (8 player insanity), Partners in Time, Meteos, Kirby: Cursed Canvas, and Metroid Prime Hunters.

3)Mario Kart-Simply amazing riveting I love the wifi gameplay even doe I can't snake and I lose alot against snakers its just so much fun.
4)New Super Mario Bros.-I love the game itself the new aspects and the mini games make a fun great multiplayer experience for everyone
5)Trauma Center-The stylus is perfect for this game its a great challenge too..almost makes you wanna kill the game itself sometimes but its worth the frustration, when your done you will literally feel like a doctor yourself..

It is nearly a year since I got my DS and a lot of great titles came out in this time. Here are the top five in my collection:

1. Nintendogs.
Raise a puppy. The interaction is fun for all ages.

2. Trauma Center.
Surgery manga with some very unique gameplay. In what other game can you revive a heart and inject someone full of drugs?

3. Metroid Pinball.
The best pinball game you can play. Rumble pack included. Great multiball and good use of video game format.

4. Mario Kart DS.
Online racing, good controls and a lot of tracks make it a complete package. Great 3D engine and sound FX too.

5. Meteos.
The DS would be lacking without a great puzzle game. Meteos sets a new standard. It has a simple and satisfying game engine that looks gorgeous.

I had fun doing this over at the psp site; yes I have a psp too. Between you and me, I like the DS better so this list is much easier. Don't tell the psp fanboys that. They take it personally for some reason.

My favorite 5 for the DS:
#1: Trauma Center: It's just the coolest idea for a touchscreen.
#2: Metroid PH: I'm used to FPSs on the computer, so this control scheme is much easier for me to dig than an analog stick.
#3: Phoenix Wright: I don't like lawyers but I love this game. Go figure.
#4: Nintendogs: It's silly but my niece, wife, & I have a ball with this sim.
#5: Brain Age: Leave it to Nintendo to make something like competitive flash cards fun. Of course I like all of the other activities more.

So that was more difficult than I thought: trying to figure what makes it onto the list. Some tough honorable mentions that I would say tie with Nintendogs and Brain Age: Advance Wars, Tony Hawk, Feel the Magic, Meteos (I just love everything by Tetsuya M.), and MarioKart.
I would have really loved to have put Burnout Legends on this list but it's so bad I don't understand why they bothered. I would've loved to have put Katamari DS on this too but I guess that really was just a rumor. Those are the only 2 things the psp has over the ds: a great burnout port and a lackluster (but existing) katamari game. Some say it's the media abilities but it's easier to hack video into a DS with a gbamp than to a psp. But for my commute, I still use my gba micro and the gbamp.

1. New Super Mario Bros. - Brings back the feeling of the classic, something no game can beat.

2. Mario Kart DS - Simply put, the Mario Kart series is the best racing series of all time.

3. Kirby Canvas Curse - Like all Kirby games, this one really shines.

4. Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time - Mario RPGs? Count me in!

5. WarioWare Touched - Wario is by far my favourite Mario character, and his games live up to my opinion of him: wacky, crazy, and fun.

Mario Kart DS - WiFi is what really makes this game. sure it's a good game but it wouldn't be on my top 5 if there was not a way to get 7 friends in a house and battle to the death! er... to the finish

New Super Mario Brothers - I feel this game has a special place in the hearts of those NES kids out there like myself. IMO it is the best iteration of Mario Bros. yet!

Super Pincess Peach - Most people think I'm messing with them when I say how good this game is. Just play it and see for yourself.

Electroplankton - So now my DS can be an instrument too?!

Tetris - again with the NES kid in me...

runners up... Trace Memory and Bomber Man

Gonzo: I'm telling pixelator.

Jesus, I really need to pick up Phoenix Wright and Trauma Center. Those reships aren't coming fast enough.

1. New Super Mario Brothers - Awesome single player and multiplayer.
2. Advanced Wars: Dual Strike - Best portable strategy game.
3. Mario Kart DS - Online, and gameplay are its advantages.
4. Big Brain Acadamy - I was either going to pick this or Brain Age, I picked Big Brain because of the better multiplayer capabilites compared to Brain Age. Also there are much more activites.
5. Castlevania - I have not beat it yet but so far I think it is the best 2D platformer on the DS yet. (besides NSMB)
I did not really enjoy nintendogs but it is true that chicks dig it. I haven't played Phoenix Wright
