"sony shill, lol" wait a sec, did you actually say SSBM?

I'm glad you half-redeemed yourself by quoting Soul Calibur, Fatal Fury and SF3.

Looks like somebody loves their Dreamcast...

SSBM is a fun party game. The rest are excellent, standalone fighters. The Dreamcast did indeed own that genre.

SSBM is a fun party game, but hardly your deep beat'em up, and nowhere near the level of the other games you stated.

Dreamcast was good, some better arcade sticks would have been nice. I was going to argue the PS2 as a better beat'em up console, but I suppose that's more of a spiritual successor to the Dreamcast in terms of beat'em ups.

Marvel VS Capcom 2, SNK VS Capcom 2, Soul Calibur 2/3, Virtua Fighter 4/Evolution, Dead or Alive 2, Street Fighter 3/Third Strike, a few King of Fighters, Tekken Tag/5, Guilty Gears, even EX3 if you're into that.

Also had a bunch of surprisingly fairly good fighters, DBZ Budokai 3, Narultimate Hero, Mortal Kombat (I guess).

As well as a plethora of arcade sticks to play them with.

Damn, I need to play some more PS2! =P

I'll admit, I barely paid any attention to Sony last gen. My PS2 got fucked early in, and I put my money towards an Xbox instead of a replacement (which I ultimately regretted). I'll probably just pick up a few years' worth of PS2 titles once I get a PS3. I also think we have very different definitions of "beat em ups". :P

Oh the Xbox is good, but in terms of games that I'd say were great is less than ten titles, compared to possibly up to a couple dozen for PS2.

And different definitions how?
