Damnit the Nintendo fanboys always have to say something about everything, im going to love spending the 200 dollars I WON'T be spending on the Wii this fall. I got a feeling i'm not the only one...

You all swear like the Wii is the next giant leap in video gaming. Its main attraction IS A PERIPHERIAL. The novelty will wear off, and it'll hurt when it does, because after that you'll be left with an under-powered console with a limited back catalog of previous Nintendo games (not every game is going to make it, the only thing for certain are the first party Nintendo, Sega, and Turbografix games)

I've been enjoying HD gaming on the PC since 2000 and the 360 has simply impressed me with what it can do on my 50 inch plasma. Some gamers tend to disagree with this, but I personally think good graphics help immerse you into the game, whether it be Ghost Recon, Oblivion, or even Madden...if anyone has seen the NEW screens for NHL 07 you'll see what I mean, its almost enough to excite you.

My varsity football coach always told me, you either get better or worse, you'll NEVER stay the same. I think Nintendo's playing a dangerous game of trying to do both, with their new control scheme and comparatively current gen graphic quality, I just hope Nintendo knows what it's doing.

My varsity football coach always told me, "Grab your ankles Shagi, or I won't be putting you in the game tomorrow. And don't tell your mom about this little deal we've worked out".

He also liked to use his Wii.

Whoa yeah Colonel! You and I are in the same boat man! my varsity caoch always told me, "As long as its extreme and has the color green in its logo, just bleech those tips ande reach for the stars young boy." Nintendo nerds do suck. XBOX RULES. I hate creativity. Anyways, I'll see you in the mess hall at 0 hundred hours comrad.

I own this game... it's a great game. But... it can get very frusterating. I'm someone who loses his temper at this game... I've already smashed one 360 wireless controler to the ground in frusteration (and broke it) because of this game... but that's vs the Ai... vs friends it's all good.

the demo has made me want to buy the game first thing tomorrow. pure fun.

and with a REGULAR CONTROLLER NO LESS. a fancy remote does not automatically make a game fun to play. good gameplay is good gameplay.

why can't the nintendo fanboys get this into their heads?

Hey Night Elve, maybe its more fun to see people squirm when making a comment about the Nintendo Wii. And, you know, what would the other nocturnal elves think if you didnt make a comment. They would never live it down.

Hey Colonel maybe, just maybe, your j.v. coach isn't the all-wise God that you seem to think he was. You do know the old saying, right? "Those that can't do teach" ring any bells? So you probably shouldn't base your life (or even any future arguments) on a cliched sports one-liner used to 'inspire' your dumb ass between trips to the MRI and studying pre-pre-algebra (read: arithmetic) with your math tutor. And what exactly do you mean by "It's almost enough to excite you"? How exactly? Sexually? Ecumenically? (I know more than three syllables, look it up.) In fact maybe some higher education would do you good buddy. Take a writing class and maybe a communications class, I'm thinking argumentation 101. Why? Because your argument is not only asinine but completely pathetic. All you do is argue graphics and how good they look on a "50-inch plasma". Holy shit, man. Did I just imagine it or did I actually hear you high five one of your buddies and crush a can of mountain dew on your forehead? Oh, and one more thing, I'm sure Nintendo needs your honky ass looking out for them. I'm sure that the top executives over at the Big N will sleep a little more soundly tonight knowing that you "hope Nintendo knows what its doing." Get over yourself twat.

@ kilodelta:

...and having to spend $500+ CRT ($1000+ flat panel) on a decent sized HDTV just to play a game in HD doesn't make a game play "better" either.

I'm a Nintendo/Wii fan but really, the Nintendo fans on this thread are being a bit retarded.

(However, why do people keep calling the Wii controller a peripheral? As far as consoles go, doesn't peripheral mean something that's not the primary controller?)

Wii The People (#15): Actually, Colonel said the Wii's main attraction was a "PERIPHERIAL" and not a peripheral. But (I think) we knew he was trying desperately to describe the Wii controller. Bear in mind, too, that Colonel took special pains to remind us that it was his VARSITY football coach that shared the little witticism about getting better. I'm guessing that Colonel needs to brag on his fading football career and his 50-inch plasma TV to compensate for other "inadequacies," if you catch my drift.

I don't give a crap about pixels-per-inch when I play a game -- I just want to escape reality for a short while and have fun playing it. I don't have an Xbox 360 and don't plan on buying one, but if I did I'd buy the Table Tennis game in a heartbeat -- looks like GREAT fun.

(BTW, I'm not a Wii fanboy, but I do play one on TV.)

I'm really surprised that people like this game. I played it recently and pretty much thought it was horrible. Here's why:

1) the gameplay gets really old really fast. Since this is TABLE tennis, there's not a whole lot of movement necessary and just couldn't imagine playing for hours on end.

2)Characters. I thought they looked goofy. The graphics are good but something doesn't look right.

3)Character movement. Why must the character move only in lateral jumps of 3 feet? The table is only 5 feet wide man.

4)Being a person that owns a ping pong table, I just couldn't stand playing a game on the TV that I could actually play. If you actually play ping pon, I don't know how you can think that this is an accurate simulation.

This is just my opinion. I didn't play the game long so maybe I didn't give it enough time, but those who play video games frequently enough know that within the first 30 minutes, if you can't find anything redeeming with the game, then the game is not for you. This game was not for me.

I bought this game and totally love it, but at the same time I agree with Devil's Advocate. Not his view on the game, but rather the fact that I can't get into it for hours on end. This game is great for short stints of gaming, maybe dropping in to play a tourney against the comp or a few matches online, then I gotta move on.

Bought it the day it came out. Verdict? The last Rockstar game I'll ever buy. The game was horrendously repetitive, had absolutely no difficulty balance, and was just downright boring. Online play suffered from extreme lag which, in a game such as this, ruins the whole experience. I'd say the game looks nice, but since the entire internet seems to be using the visuals of this game to hype it, I'll just pass.

If you play this game once (or just a small handful of times) then I see why you think it's the worst thing ever made. I had the same feeling when I first played it but I had heard significantly more good things about it then bad things, so I bought it and gave it a shot.

Guess what? I got A LOT better at it and while I did feel the need to throw my controller at the cat when I got pissed off, it was still a fun game to play once you work around the minor control issues.
