See through the eyes of a CounterStrike cheater [Update 1]
Yeah, we may be on a bit of a "cheaters" rampage as of late, but we just can't allow this plague of the gaming industry to sit idly by. This video up on YouTube shows what life is like for a low down dirty scoundrel of CounterStrike. In the movie, titled "Chapter 1: What do cheaters see when they cheat," you'll enjoy the disgusting pleasures of Aimbot and Speed Hack and then that thing that makes the colors all funky. Best part of the video, though, is the music. Loves it!

[Update 1] We went ahead and put Chapter 2 up. In this latest installment, we get to see how to detect cheaters. Thanks for providing the link and footage Miller!]

Why are you posting a video of the obvious? I already see this when I start up my Counter-Strike every day.
Cheating = awesome.
Mark D. @ Jul 27th 2006 11:31PM
For those wondering, the song is actually a remix of the song Elysium on the Gladiator soundtrack scored by Hans Zimmer. (It's a pretty good score)
Just throwing it out there ;)
John @ Jul 27th 2006 11:45PM
Pardon my language.
FUCK HACKERS!
SonicRift @ Jul 28th 2006 12:27AM
I agree with John.
I don't see how it could possibly be fun to play with hacks. I just can't fathom it.
Govo @ Jul 28th 2006 12:37AM
I remember getting on CS servers a couple years ago with these cheats. The way we justified it is that we don't enjoy counterstrike (since it's a terrible game), so nobody else should either. I enjoyed it very much.
I recommend hackers join French servers, those guys are idiots :)
Night Elve @ Jul 28th 2006 12:40AM
I hate this ...
It is like im having fun playing Counter Strike: Source in my favorite server and then a hacker joins the game ... all the fun suddenly is gone.
Eric @ Jul 28th 2006 12:42AM
Heh, hey Govo...
I have bad knees, so I think everyone else should have bad knees too. Come over here so I can break them.
Eric R @ Jul 28th 2006 12:47AM
Cheating ruins the game for everyone, I really can't stand it. What's the fun in playing the game without a challenge? I also can't stand the people the quit as soon as they start to lose.
Classic @ Jul 28th 2006 1:07AM
i play cs all the time. if you get good and play with the right ppl, it can be a great game. jus cuz you suck does not mean the game sucks. and jus cuz you suck doesnt mean you can hack. plus, playing is alot better when you have admin in your favorite server. cuz of all the damn hackers, i only play in my clans server.
Govo @ Jul 28th 2006 1:35AM
If you still enjoy CS after all these years, you may have some sort of mental illness.
T-Bag @ Jul 28th 2006 1:35AM
I love hackers for one reason and one reason only. They fuck with people who have the money to enjoy the latest pc games. Aside from that I despise 'em.
Nathan M @ Jul 28th 2006 1:37AM
Blech, hackers. I've never run into anybody actually cheating (mostly because America's Army is the only online game I play at the moment) but I hate it when people cry "cheater" because someone killed them :<
"Person radioed: YeS bcuz i r ultamit adn canot b kild!!11
Different_Person radioed: o_O I shot the enemy, is that suddenly cheating?
Person radioed: wtf U h4cker I'm gunnu report u!

Ubersnuber @ Jul 28th 2006 1:59AM
its so friggin lame!
i dont like CS, but im thinkin of ppl who actually spend time on this game nd wanna get skilled.
Then they meet these cheating idiots..
5ftassassin @ Jul 28th 2006 2:45AM
Cheaters are down there on the depth chart right next to rapists, murders, and terrrorists. It's a fact you know? I shutter when I hear about an advancement in the race to hack/mod a 360; because in 07 when H3 drops the odds are they'll have hacked the 360. I'd have to say that all the cheats from stand by and modded boxes really turned me off of Halo 2 much faster than I'd have liked. I really do enjoy the public embarassement phase of Bungie's ban hammering even though I've not played H2 in a long while.
Roy @ Jul 28th 2006 3:55AM
#15:
I'm afraid the 360's already been hacked. Nothing is sacred anymore :/
Govo @ Jul 28th 2006 4:10AM
At least my mission to get people off of counterstrike is going well.
I don't even bother to hack CS anymore. Playing good games are so much better than cheating at bad games.
CS is essentially the same game over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. It gives you brain damage I swear.
Although... hacking was fun, everyone always got so pissed off, just like we have seen in the comments so far.
:)
GSI @ Jul 28th 2006 5:02AM
cheaters = morons, idiots, etc.
Hans Zimmer = awesome composer (but not as good as John Williams)
Jason @ Jul 28th 2006 5:54AM
You know I never did have too much of a problem with cheating after souce and VAC came out.
Granted 1.6 was just fucked, but Valve gave up after a while and, well, anything's a hell of lot better than Diablo II's Battle.net, right?
Thanks for the linkage Robert!
emceay @ Jul 28th 2006 6:14AM
You suck, Govo.
DG @ Jul 28th 2006 8:19AM
Govo, you truly are despicable. There is no power in ruining a good time for other people. People like you make it so I can't enjoy a movie, I can't enjoy a night at a restaurant, and I can't drive without worrying about some Fast and Furious wannabe killing me.
Just get over yourself.
Chris Taran @ Jul 28th 2006 8:32AM
Hmm, see I have no problem with cheaters. I've never played CS nor do I realy play FPS's in general, but if someone can figure out how to give themselves an advantage then I say they should use it.
And to people who say there's no fun in a game without challenge, I would have to disagree. I use to love playing old side scrolling beat-up games and those games are not challenging at all. It was just fun to go around beating up the enemies. I can see the same being true in an FPS.
Then again I'm also one of those rare people who think story is just as important as gameplay, which is why RPG's are my favorite genre. RPG's really arn't a challenge. I play them for the story alone.
Games with a high amount of challenge do nothing but piss me off and are the exact oposite of being fun. When I did play some FPS's online being new when everyone else had been playing for a year or more I would stand no chance. How exactly are new players suppose to get into these games? I can understand why in their frustration they would use hacks and cheats. To make those other players feel the way they felt when playing against them.
Anyway I know no one else here will agree with any of my points, but I figure someone out there has to have the crazy "other" opinion!
jc @ Jul 28th 2006 8:54AM
If you suck so badly at video games that you need to cheat... why bother? It must be a lowly existance.
Myself and some friends always take on the cheaters (and teamkillers) in multiplayer. It is a blast to send the home crying in the waaaambulance... they really get upset so easily.
Multiplayer game cheaters challange: if you practice enough, you might be good enough some day to play without cheating... I dare you.
saboola @ Jul 28th 2006 9:02AM
I think cheating comes as a direct result from a lack of self confidence in real life. For example, Govo above, probably is or was attacked daily by the local bully. In real life, his lack of social skills and self esteem become the better of him. He enters his "virtual" life, hellbent on taking it out on all those assholes that make life a living hell for him. He is now brave and tough, because he can cheat behind a mask that nobody can see. I guess to sum up, cheaters are lame, and cheating is being used as an outlet since they are too chicken to take on their own real life fears. That's just my opinion.
sockatume @ Jul 28th 2006 9:57AM
Cheating in a multiplayer game is like winning at chess by upending the board. A game is not a game when you remove the rules.

I never understood cheating in a online game. I mean you play online to measure yourself against the rest of the field and have a little fun. Whats the point of cheating? To see who is the best looser? I can understand it in sports, where the best athletes make more money, get more respect and such. But to cheat in a game just makes you a petty sissy as all you are playing for is a number that pops up when you hold down tab. Cheaters really must just be kids who are getting bullied in school and ya know what, they deserve it. Instead of looking for a way to fight back, or concerning competitive gaming, *gasp* get better they look for the fastest, easiest way out. Whether it be curling up in a ball and crying for a teacher to come help you in real life, or firing up the cheats in a game. These guys are the definition of weak.
And another thing. Where do these cheaters congregate and what are there conversations like? "Dooood, this morning I got on a server and pissed off 20 people, I rocked". "Sweet man, you are sooooooo the best cheater, I hope I can be like you someday".
Seriously, wtf?
Manboy @ Jul 28th 2006 10:26AM
Chris Taran: JRPGs having atrophied your thumbs (and your standards re: storytelling) doesn't make it right for you or anyone else to treat 7 to 63 other human beings on a public server as expendable AI whose sole purpose is to effortlessly fall at your feet like Final Fight's clone army. If your (or anyone's) schooling threshold is so low yet you still just HAVE to play CS, there is such a thing as offline play with bots.
DG @ Jul 28th 2006 10:49AM

This shows what being a superhero in a superhero game should be like (are you lisetening NCsoft?). But only if the mortals knew they had to deal with a superhero so they could all gang up to try to kill him.
As for people who use this without the others consent... I say strap them to a chair and make them play CS for a 12 hours a day with a special hack that turns them into a slow retard with terrible aim and a huge head. After they are forced to get headshot and crawl around like a snail being a laughingstock for a few months I'd say their debt to society has been paid.
Nathan M @ Jul 28th 2006 2:22PM
"Or they could practice and get better." Most of the time it's like trying to learn to play chess against a damn supercomputer, you'll never win and no real experience is gained because of it. >_
broseph @ Jul 28th 2006 7:40PM
"10. If you still enjoy CS after all these years, you may have some sort of mental illness."
if you play to ruin other people's time, you DEFINITELY have a mental illness.

Alex @ Jul 29th 2006 2:09PM
i dont understand how people can fun playing a game all day....with hacks. I mean, you lose the purpose of the game, there is no challenge, youre basically staring at a screen and pressing a button.
You know your a geek gamer when you spend your days playing videogames with hacks.
KirbyMeister @ Jul 29th 2006 7:15PM
I got a good FPS multiplayer mode idea: Cheater vs. Everyone else. A single player gets to use aimbot, wallhack, and speedhack. Everyone else is on a different team; and has to play normally. Goal is to kill the cheater.
Chowweekly @ Jul 30th 2006 3:44AM
"^^^loser talk. you are weak."
wtf dude. He has a valid point. Most of the people playing counter-strike now have had YEARS of expirience. That's insane for a video game. Your comment might make sense if it was relating to something more worth-while than being competitive at an old video game.
That's not saying that cheating is right. I am %100 against cheating in online games. The point is that it's nearly impossible to start playing CS online today without spending more time than most people are willing to spend getting absolutely owned. It's like trying to start playing StarCraft online for the first time.
Monk @ Aug 13th 2006 6:18AM
Hi I don't use hacks, but my game is super fast. Every one say I have speed cheat. I would like to know if any one else enconter this problem.
noob @ Aug 21st 2006 11:58PM
This is how I picture it:
A bunch of kids are playing on the playground. Yelling, screaming, running around, bumping into each other and having fun in a childlike way.
Govo thinks it's stupid and starts shoving the kids down, justifies it by saying that something they enjoy and choose to enjoy should not be judged by his/her/its standards, and laughs as he ruins the fun of many.
I hope your childhood was better than that scenario at least... Then there might be some hope for you after all.
