Paper Mario-esque UT2K4 mod trailer is up

Unless you are an avid French gamer completely sucked up into the PC mod world, you may have not been tracking the progress of this UT2K4 mod, Drawn to be Alive. According to the makers of this unique, and very interesting game, it is near completion. What started out as an unfinished class project is now on its way to becoming an experience as refreshing as it can get in today's game market.
There are currently three levels done, with a fourth promised to be complete at the end of August. The game itself is slated for an October release, but considering the slow going thus far, that target month could be out of reach. Nonetheless, it's nice to see new styles of gameplay wiggle their way through these great mods that designers keep producing. Makes us wonder what you readers think is the best mod that's ever seen the light of day.
Check out the trailer here.

That looks like it could be a whole lot of fun to play...
I wonder if one of the weapons is a "Pack of Matches" so you can set your enimies on fire... hahaha

Best idea for a video game in years. Looks hella fun to play.

Looks grand. I could totally see pack o' matches working well in a multiplayer version. Though so far, it looks to be very story oriented, rather, no multiplayer. Maybe someone will make a mod of this mod?

That looks amazing. I can barely even tell that it's from a mod team and not an actual product.

I like the music, can any french readers decipher who scored the trailer on the drawntobealive.com site?

Hands down, Action Quake 2.
Action Half-Life, Powerball Quake 2 and Air-Gun Quake 1 are all close seconds.

That sounds awesome. I hope they release the mod in an English version, too.

Wow...now that is cool.
About time someone thinks out of the box.

DUDE! THAT LOOKS AMAZING! It's paper Mario in a FULLY 3D world!
This game is only topped by "Generic Football Game With Slightly Better Graphics and the Exact Same Gameplay 2007"!!!

Um, Counter-Strike? I never really cared for it, but I think it probably wins due to sheer volume. It was the most popular online game in the world for a not-insignificant period.

I actually had a similar idea a while back for a game. I was thinking the setting could be a classroom and all the doodles kids make in class came to life in a massive rts.

the max payne kung fu/matrix mods. seriously, any max payne mod for pc was amazing. it really put to shame the actual matrix games released shortly after.
but, clearly- as far as most important... i've gotta give it to the original counterstrike. I too never really cared much for it, but it sure did drag everyone else in.

Best mod?! Deathball for UT! It's like soccer/football/Unreal Tournament all in one!
