Thanks to Digital Double for our little cameo -- he even drew my horns right. Hope you like these choices, as I'm blogging on vacation right now (bloggin' at the beach ... sounds like nerd porn). Here are our picks for the week's best gaming webcomic, be sure to vote for your favorite!
A lot of good ones this week, but I had to settle on Digital Unrest. It was a tough choice between DU, Fanboys, and Penny-Arcade, but I ruled Penny-Arcade out after deciding that had the DU and PA comics both been done by PA, the DU one was just plain funnier.
I really wanted to give my vote to Fanboys (because I totally think calling Mortal Kombat should be protected by law), but since I decided against it, I'd at least like to thank the author for delivering a great comic this week!
If you thought concerned was the best why did you vote for Penny Arcade? Don't get me wrong Tycho and Gabe are my frikkin idols but if you dont vote based off the strengths of the comic and instead on fanboyism then this whole voting thing is pointless.
Oh and Mortal Kombat was brilliant. Got my vote, tempted to vote for Penny Arcade because of LocoRoco, but really, other than referencing that, it didn't funny me.
Concerned, I know it's not the point, but the source material gets a bit old. "Look, a chest high wall" "Freeman doesn't talk" etc.
I think many people didnt read the comics and just voted. Because the one of Penny Arcade is not funny at all, but the one from Nuklear Power is so hilarious.
I read all of them, but when I noticed the Nuklear Power one was up there, I just had to pick it. I don't care what anyone else thinks, 8-bit theater is easily the funniest comic on the net, as long as you have read every page.
If anyone else is like me, the only one that made sense (and was marginally funny while making sense) was PA, which is why I voted for it. I know what mortal kombat is, and I think it would have been a lot funnier if I understood the reference (I'm sure I'm not getting something about it that probably makes it hillarious). Same goes for Nuklear power -- I play games only occasionally, so I dont really understand what the joke is. I get what they're saying, but it's just not funny (again, likely my fault). PA seems to be on the level of the casual gamer (such as myself) so they're easy to understand.

I'm glad my comic made it up there :d , surrounded by all those freakin' awesome comics :)
I completely loved the Mortal Kombat one :P and yes, it should be legal.
Lee @ Jul 29th 2006 4:57PM
Chris, because Concerned wasn't one of the options.
The fanboyism paranoia is spreading.

Ugh... a not-as-funny Penny Arcade is gonna win out just because it is P.A.
Mank @ Jul 29th 2006 10:25PM
What hell spawn caused the Concerned one to be left out this week?
N0Skillz @ Jul 29th 2006 11:05PM
Man, PA was funny. But how can you say no to Fanboys? I mean mortal kombat, comic genious! IDK, maybe i'm just not a PA whore like everyone else. lol

Nuklear Power was pure gold this time.
4: Little Gamers would have been funnier if I hadn't read the exact same thing a day earlier:
