Nintendo: "Wii prove our promise" at Leipzig Games Convention

According to the official website, Nintendo will give a presentation at the 2006 Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany. The hour-long presentation, entitled "Wii prove our promise," will start at 10:15 a.m. on August 23rd. Last week, a rumor from Comic-Con mentioned that some Wii announcements at Leipzig, and Nintendo's presentation seems to corroborate those rumblings.

Nintendo has stated they would reveal launch details, including pricing, sometime in September. August 23 might be close enough for a revelation or two.

All this rumor and heresay is nonstop and everywhere you go on the internet. It's very frustrating but probably a good plan on their part considering all the free advertisement and word of mouth about their new product.

It is getting close to crunch time, with some people being too dazzled by PS3 graphics and forgetting about Wii due to lack of information, Nintendo needs to announce this information soon. The Leipzig event is sure to be a good medium to do such.

Where teh heck do you live where thats true? cause I know lately ive been seeing stuff about wii in newspapers, tv, and in magazines where the only mention of ps3 is its 600 pricetag.

this isnt fanboy bs either, cause currently ps2 is my favorite system, and I WAS looking forward to PS3 untill sony got stupid with their presentations and sounded like idiots.

For the love of Peter, Paul, Mary and Joseph, please just give us a release date and price. Absolutely nothing else is needed - just the release date and price. Leave any other 'secrets' for September or the day before the launch for all I care. I need to know when to book off work and how much money I gotsta take to the store then.

I mean "we keep our promise" it has to mean the price and date.

Doesn't anyone think that the announcement time of 10:15 is a bit wierd, just speculation but maybe its the launch date? 15th October - 10/15...well its not too far-fetched is it?

Everyone is confusing what was said back then. Iwata or whoever never said that all/more would be revealed IN September, but that all/more would be revealed BY September. Sorry I can't remember if Iwata said it or not or if he said EVERYTHING would be revealed, but my point is that he said BY September, not IN September, which is why I was expecting another August SpaceWorld.

However, it seems now that that SpaceWorld has been replaced with this Leipzig Games Convention on August 23, 4:15 AM Eastern Time, for those of you wondering.

Personally, I CANNOT WAIT!

Who are we kidding? Ninty will probably keep this a secret until a week before the launch. They will probably announce something useless in sept like "WII is actually called Revoloution. You guys have been fooled for 6 months" (lol i can still dream.)

I can just see it: Nintendo releases date.
Five minutes later, bored employees at gaming stores feel the earth start to shake as hundreds of gamings charge to pre-order.
Riots.
End of civilization.
It's further proof of Nintendo's ploy to destroy humanity!
