Why shouldn't young talent be used? Gabe is very under-rated. He's hit the mark with Half Life 1 and 2, digital distribution as well as episodic gameplay. If he can know better than to stay with the same old people doing the same old stuff and hire what he deems as suitable young talent, then more power to him and more interesting gameplay for us.

In interesting note...

In the video they refer to this device as:

Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device

A SHPD

Adrian Sheperd

Of course, it's just speculation, but it gives weight to that theory ;)

Someone is so gonna open a portal under you when you're sleeping if you figure stuff out they don't think you're smart enough to get.

Fun fact: I went to school with these people at DigiPen back in 2001. Great to see them going places.

On that "Valve has no plans to purchase EA" comment...

She didn't misunderstand, she was being funny.

You might even say she "seemingly misunderstands" the question ... oh, wait.

Yeah...she was retorting that the only time a purchase would happen would be Valve buying EA. Valve likes being their own corporation.

Your "win-win" scenario sounds like a repeat of the EA-Ultima fiasco.

Yeah. Release sucky games on time every year FTW.

It's a good thing that Valve only gives EA capability to distribute their games to retailers.

And I do hope it'll stay that way.

I've always wondered what happened to Shepard. I think this would be a perfect thing for him to be in.
