Just having one Rush song in there made me extremely happy, but besides that, throwing a Metallica in there would be great. If I had to be specific - how about Battery?

How about some SLAYER, too =)

I'd still love a hard rock remake of the old jazz tune "Powerline" (which most people would recognize from classic Looney Tunes shorts). I'd also love "Guitar Was The Case" by Mono Puff.

That said, "Arterial Black" is already rocking my face off.

I'd just like to add, after a re-listen of Metallica's Battery, that this song would be freakin' PERFECT for Guitar Hero 2, considering the added focus of the use of two guitars this time 'round.

Metallica. Battery. Do it.

To be honest, being the weeaboo that I am, I really wanna see some Shiina Ringo in the game. I know that will never happen, so Konami has my hopes and dreams in toe with their Guitar game that will hopefully use the GH guitar.

But english songs? Can we get some pre-Sade Kravitz plz?

Uhh why don't they have Master of Puppets by Metallica yet? It only has like the best guitar wailing solos ever. Maybe Fuel by them or even St. Anger.
P.S. If you think I was serious about the last one...I hate you.

- ANY guns and roses would be wicked.
- Bat out of hell (again, the piano part would we a good test of your 'metal')
- Taxman by the Beatles would be a good one. specially with the bass part. that reversed guitar solo could be interesting too :)

There are so many tunes that I would love to rock out to with Guitar Hero. This franchise will be around for a long time if they release volumes of tunes. Some tunes that might be fun:

Epic - Faith No More
Welcome to the Jungle - GNR
One - Metallica
Manic Depression - Hendrix
Good Times Bad Times - Led Zeppelin

And for an added unlockable bonus anything by these guys: http://minibosses.com/

I cannnot wait for this game..

Only 11 of 55 songs announced and I love them all.. Seriously.....

Even if it's one of the metal bands I never got into - I still know these songs becuase they were staples of the hits for these bands.

I have to admit, studio musicians for red octane are good, but nothing compares to neil pert on the Rush YYZ and you can totally hear it.

Shout at the devil seems cool but the guitar tuning is not perfect and the guy singing like vince does not have the range.

I feel the first game they Painfully tried to replicate the artist to truely make metal fans and casual music games feel at home with a sense of realisim - I hope that carries into this game - I hope they don;t just cut corners to get all the songs done. The Authentic feeling of the first set of sings from GH1 really made the game.

Now i hope for a few things.

1. More Realism in the song recordings.
2. A NEW STYLE guitar with the game. Gibson Explorer, les paul or maybe even a Flying V.
3. An Xbox 360 version with wireless guitar, Xlive downloadable songs and content weekly, Online battles and Online Audience + A mode that will let you pick a song off your Hard drive that you ripped, analise it and create a level for your Custom song.
4. Shorter load times.
5. Arena Mode where you pick 3-5 songs to do in a row concert style and get a overall grade.
6. Fast Foward, Rewind, Pause on the practive mode as well as A-B repeat - where you can mark a start point and end point and it loops the section over and over so you can practice it.
7. OPEN CORDS. To really add guitar realism - we need to play nites by just strumming the strum button depressing NO buttons for Open E and Drop D rythyms.
8. Indicators for Hammer ons and pull offs. The old system don't work right - hope they fix it.
9. I know they don't want to waste time on the old songs, but IF it comes to 360 there should be a donwload pack for the old songs.
10. More Jimmi and SRV please.
11. Metallica - Like that is going to happen - but I recommend that they get permission to use a famous metallica Cover if they cannot get a Actual Metallica song. LIke BreadFan, Last Carress, AM I Evil, Blitzkreig, or some other High Profile Song that Metallica has covered - that way they only need to get the original artist permission but they can make it sound like Metallica. I wouldn't mind Seeing AM I EVIL as Made Famous by - NOT METALLICA but it sound like the version on Kill em all.
12 - Led Zeppelin? Page? Perhaps? Hope so?
13 - Rearrange mode. A completely different arrangement for each song once you beat everything.
14. Online leaderboard (both PS2 and X360 if it comes out for 360)
15. Replay mode - ability to save your best performances and replay them.
16. For it to come out on time!!!

I can twait for this game.

PS: Red Octaine - we chatted about a job, Im sorry if you didn't feal I wa able to help the franchise and give me a job, but I will try again next time i see you guys and remember I feel I have the fresh Ideas to really make this game something special - not that it isn't already - It is the best underground game of all time and Im sure you guys have the sales to prove it - I just feel I can make this game Explode!!! I go into best buy and just fool around with this game and sell 10 copies while playing and chatting with customers as i play - Imagine what i can do if you paid me to sell this game and come up with concepts - my list above should be enough proof.

Anyways You probibly wont even see this.

If you do feel free to email me.

Anyway Epic was a good suggestion. Also, what about Rage Against the Machine? Wake Up would be amazing, or even Bulls on Parade or Guerrilla Radio if nothing else. And ALICE IN CHAINS. What is wrong with you guys, put in AIC!!!!

Tenacious D

As much Led Zeppelin as possible

It'd be nice to see some hardcore offerings... Coalesce, or older Cave In. (Newer Cave In wouldn't be too bad either, its just not really hardcore.) Earth Crisis' "Gomorrah's Season Ends" would be tits.

Tool, why not? One of those songs in 13/8 time or whatever would be nicely chalenging >D

Lenny Kravitz - Are You Gonna Go My Way?

Iron Maiden - too many to count, as long as it's not Run To The Hills (horrible, horrible representation of Maiden)

Jethro Tull maybe?

I don't know, I'm excited about the listing so far. And the multiplayer sounds amazing. I just hope they put in a practice-section mode so that I can learn the solos without going through the whole song... it could work just like Kris K suggests.

Im sure there are 100's of killer songs that Could make the cut.

Even if they had licences for all of them, and we only see 55 on a disk - Then 2 ideas.

Xbox 360 - download packs (if game comes to 360)

Double album edition. Make a 2 disk GH2 game for like $30 more - and call it the Arrogant Rockstar Double Album you know your going to buy it Edition.

You can always steal the album concept from Gun & Roses with their Use your illusions I and II. Make 2 games GH2 Vol1 and GH2 Vol2 Give us over 100+ songs and copy the concept for that for the cover art in terms of SAME COVER just different shades and colors. It would be a hoot.

Must have Songs. (my opinion)

Judas Priest - Painkiller
Metallica - One/or/Master of puppets
Kind Diamond - Too demonic for this game? Abigail perhaps
Slayer - South of Heaven
Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
Iron Maiden - Numebr of the beast / The Trooper
TWISTED SISTER - Were not gonna take it / I wanna rock
Poison - Talk Dirty to me
Motely Crue - Girls GIrls Girls/Wild side (I know usually 1 song per artist in this game)
Def Leppard - Photgraph
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Suck my kiss / Under the bridge
Janes Addicion - Caught stealing
Ministry - Jesus Built my hotrod
Led Zep - Hot Dog / Song Remains the Same
Jimmi Hendrix - Fire (great bass song) Great leads
SRV - Pride and Joy
Pantera - Walk / This Love
Disterbed - Stupify
Godsmack - ALive
Rage aganst the machine - Bulls on parrade
System of a Down - Toxisity / Chop seui
Slip Knot - Anthing heavy
Linkin Park - Anythig from first album
3 Doors down - superman
AC/DC - For those about to rock / Shook me All night Long
DIO - Holy Diver
Guns & Roses - Welcome to the Jungle
MEGADETH - Of mice and Men
W.A.S.P - Maybe not but killer songs
Van Halen - Hot for the teacher
Joe satriani - Summer song/ Surfing with the alien
Skid Row - 18 and Life
Ratt - Round and Round
Exodus - Toxic Waltz
Avenged 7 fold - Anything from the new album
Rob Zombie - Dragula
Nirvana - Smeels like teen spirit
Pearl Jam - Jeremy / Evenflo

Im sure there are tons more to list, but then again I don;t want to repeat bands since there seem to be only 1 song per artist - though an famous artist that has multiple bands can get on multiple times - Like OZZY.
Perhaps Phil Ansolmo from Pantera - maybe even Dio?

Anyways that a list of artist I fees should be on there.

2) Smashing Pumpkins - SilverF*ck. (That's a great song)
3) G'n'R - It's so Easy or Rocket Queen.
4) Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here or Another Brink in the Wall (Pt. 2).
5) Living Colour - Cult of Personality.
6) The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again.
7) Finally, dare I say, Van Halen - Panama.

There are so many songs I would love the chance to play in Guitar Hero 2... but I'd probably go with my real favorites... "D-7" by Nirvana (a cover of the same song by The Vaselines I think... on the Hormoaning single released in Japan). It starts out very slow then just explodes and gets super fast. Would be a lot of fun to play. I'd kill for anything by The Pixies, but 'Digging for Fire' is my favorite by them. 'Wave of Mutilation' would have wider appeal and be just as fantastic!

BTW, what about a special 'endurance' mode that features extremely long songs like Stairway to Heaven?

I would like to see a new model for the controller, probably Sweet Child of Mine, but maybe Red Octane should move up an era? Go for some 90's songs or 2000's? Sticking with the old stuff will be just a repeat of the original, make a sequel! Not a remake!

I'd like to see some newer songs, too, Fell, and I'm sure they'll include a few like they did with GH and Franz Ferdinand's Take Me Out, but a lot of the more popular rock songs now-a-days are solo-less. So what you have is 3 or 4 minutes of power chords. Not the most exciting experience to play.

I have confidence that the studio will pull through with a great track list. I just wish they'd release the rest of the songs instead of taunting us like this. :)

That is true vidGuy, but Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" didn't have a set solo either? I am sure they would find some songs in the 90's or so with good solos, and a few from the 2000's.

Journey ..Yes.. or even some different Old Punk.. Minor Threat .. Black Flag.. Misfits.. theres still some gaps but all in all its a freakin great game. Cant wait till II comes out.

but personally I can't wait for the Metal version of Guitar hero, since I crave the heavier stuff more, and honestly - it'd be a hell of a lot more fun to play.

for this guitar hero though, I'd love to see some dream theater.

anyone else hear a rumor that every time I die will be in the game maybe? they are ok..

but yeah I'd like to see some maiden, in flames, maybe some thrice, just mix it UP but make sure they stay good.
