If you thought the world had just enough kart racers it could possibly handle, think again. Namco is about to throw its hat into the overcrowded genre by unleashing Pac-Man World Rally. The game is set to launch Aug. 22 on the PSP, PS2, Gamecube and PC. In Pac-Man World Rally, players will be able to take control of Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Jr. Pac-Man, Blinky, Pooka, Toc-Man, Spooky and Erwin. In addition to the default playable characters, players will be able to take other Namco mascots behind the wheel.
In IGN's preview, Lucas Thomas made a good point in that Namco may be able to develop a solid kart racer since it has the experience from co-developing Mario Kart Arcade Grand Prix. If Namco can make this game anywhere near as fun as Mario Kart DS, I'm all in.
