Readers pick best webcomic (July 23 - 29, 2006)
Sorry for the lateness on the response; blame it on moving into a new apartment, a faulty router, and a power outage. All griping aside, the winner has more or less been set from the start: Penny Arcade, you are the most popular gaming webcomic this week. If only the game Loco Roco was as popular as the comic satiring it ...Second and third, yet again, is a veritable tie between Dueling Analogs and Fanboys. Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to let us know (via comments below) of any game-related webcomics you stumble upon this week.

On a serious note, has anyone else seen the latest Press Start To Play? Very sorry to have happened. May they Rest In Peace.

I love Penny Arcade, but I honestly feel like this week's win was based on the name alone. The strip was simply not that funny when compared to the other comics in the poll.

Quite funny, not hilariously.
Loco Roco didn't do so well in Europe either. maxed out at 18 in the chart. Its at 40 now. I seriously thought this game would sell like mad. Not enough publicity is the problem I think.
Its the best game i've played since Shadow of the Colossus. Good for very different reasons though.
I remember thinking similar things when I bought that old gem ICO. Why the hell aren't people buying this? Someone at the time said "Its a poor mans Tomb Raider" HAHAHAA!!
I guess Loco Roco is a Poor mans New Mario Brothers ;)
Tis a shame though. I wonder if my copy of Loco Roco will end up being worth stupid money. Along with my UK Rez and ICO.
I really do urge anyone who has a PSP to get Loco Roco, your missing out on a real treat if you don't. Its not usually the type of game I go for (Looks wise anyway) and probably would never have bought it if it wasnt for the demo.

i enjoy penny arcade as much as the next guy, but its just winning on volume of readers not the quality of the comics. much better comics in the poll this time.

Ian @ Aug 3rd 2006 6:36AM
Satiring? It's satirizing...Isn't it??
Justin Brogan @ Aug 3rd 2006 7:06AM
The biase shown towards the comics in these best webcomic contests are starting to make them entirely pointless.
Jeff @ Aug 3rd 2006 10:11AM
Make sure you add this to next weeks!

Ahem Sony spent tens of millions advertising loco roco in Japan. They had entire train stations painted with loco roco stuff.
People in Japan if shown loco roco ask when the DS version is coming out.
Rare Hare @ Aug 3rd 2006 1:45PM
"I guess Loco Roco is a Poor mans New Mario Brothers ;)"
I'm afraid I don't understand this analogy, being that you can pick up a brand new DS Lite and a copy of New Super Mario Bros. for less than it would cost you to buy just a PSP without any games.
I understand the phrase "_____ is the poor man's _____" used as a figure of speech, but I figure it should at least have some meaning to it.

As has become custom I'm going to suggest the latest RPG-TV for inclusion in the next wrap-up. IS this because I draw it and am therefore biased and greedy for the hits you bestow upon us through this magnificent weekly feature?...PERHAPS! But it's also because the latest RPG-TV is about the E3 news and is therefore relevent!
