I AM AMAZED that all you 360 owners are so excited to get this game. The graphics stink, the controller stinks, and the gameplay... stinks... OH wait... that is what you all have been saying about the WII!

IRONY!!!

Once you're bored looking at pretty moving pictures in the "awesome" 360 games you have take a look at the fun we will be having with the Wii.

Seriously... what percentage of time do 360 owners spend playing the XBL arcade games versus actual 360 games... I would bet you that most 360 owners are playing the arcade way more than the 360 games.

You can also change the settings of the D-pad itself:

- Guide button
- Click top bar, with Gamerscore
- Game Defaults
- General
- Controller Sensitivity

Change it to low or high. Low will make it similar to the PS2's d-pad, high makes it more like the old Xbox's pad.

Also with those things to take your pad apart, I did something a little different back when DOA4 came out. Nothing was sanded down, but I put a few layers of paper with a doughnut hole in the middle between the plastic pad itself and the contact points. This way you don't have to press it down so much in order for it to register as being 'pressed'. It might help.

I have the DOA4 stick otherwise, and was playing it a bit this morning. The computer kicked my butt hard.

*ahem*
OMGZ IT IS TEH SUXX SO MUCH BETTER ON SNES THE SUX-BOX IS TEH POO."

The only thing worse than a nonsensical fanboy is people like Geist who make a comment like this in every thread. Someone please give him a negative star. This crap adds no value to any discussion.

I had similar problems with the Hori when I was playing DOA4 a lot online, and switched back to the controller.

Basically, there is really no reliable way to do the dragon punch move on it. It's clicky, but doesn't have a good directional feel. The best success I've had with it is to basically hold the stick from the upper left (hard to explain), which helps a little, but is very uncomfortable (for me).

Given that DOA4 was perfectly playable with the controller, this hasn't been an issue up until now. SF2 and descendants are really the only games that essentially require the two rows of three buttons interface, and none of them were on the console.

Now that there are a couple games that might benefit from a stick, I think you're going to see more people deciding that they want one, and therein is the rub...there isn't a good one available.

What's awful is that Hori's arcade stick for the Dreamcast was a thing of great beauty. Best damn stick I've owned from a mainstream retailer. This one just doesn't live up to their history.

Korexz, you're a moron. SF2 is a childhood memory for anyone over the age of 16.

You're probably eight, or at least that's the age you are acting.

And I support Sega. I could give 2 shits about ANY of the new consoles.

Korexz, the only fanboy here is you. Only a fanboy would be so concerned about XBox 360 owners' preferences or lack thereof towards the Nintendo Wii.

Gamers, on the other hand, will buy every system they can afford. That may include even, shudder, systems from competing manufacturers. I know it's a mindblowing concept for someone like you.

Why the hell can't you just use the stick? This may be blasphemy, but do you HAVE to use the D-pad in SF 2?

The D-pad on the ps2 street fighter controller looks an awful lot like the d-pad on the xbox controller........ has anybody used one? is it responsive?

It's a faithful reproduction of the arcade machine, with online capability. For what it's supposed to be, it does the job perfectly. Most people who buy this are aware of what they are buying, and won't be disappointed.

It does seem more difficult to me. It took 8 attempts just beating E. Honda on my first match. Granted, it's been a long time, but still!

Well, I don't like the D-Pad...not because of responsiveness, but simply because of it's placement. I'd prefer a d-pad that's closer to the edge of the pad. I feel that it's uncomfortable to play for more than a few minutes. Give me a pad that's only designed for games like this with the left analog and d-pad swapped.
In terms of the moves, I was nailing the Zangief SPD "tic" about 1/2 the time in the 2 minutes I was able to play before work. That's much better than I've been able to pull on the emulated PC versions...but still nothing like the 95% I can pull on the PS2. If I can do that (one of the tougher SF2 things to nail regularly), I have faith.

A lot of you here are the biggest bunch of whiney little girls. First you rant and complain about the game taking forever to come out, and the second it comes out, you complain about the D-Pad. It's as if you have to complain about something in order to get through the day.

WTF is this dudes problem? Mommy and Daddy not give him enough love? Whats with the hostile generalization of all XBOX360 owners? Was he beaten up by someone who looked like Bill Gates or something?

Jeebus.

For one, the 360 crowd has sort of an unofficial alliance with the Wii crowd against Sony at this point. Wii-60?

For two, from my experience, its usually the Sony Fanboys who are the ones who take the most delight in poking fun at Nintendo fanboys. (I'm not trying to start a war, PSFanboys, just making an observation).

For three, (and this is coming from a Nintendo "fanboy", if you will) the arcade perfect Street Fighter 2 has better graphics than any game that was ever released on either the turbo graphix, the genesis, the NES, or the SNES, so your lame point is DOA anyways...

I didn't have too much of a prob with the d-pad. It works very nicely with local play. Out of the 3 games I played online, it was pretty smooth for 2. One game was a bit to slow.

Nuby did make those controllers for the xbox version of street fighter anniversary collection. The bigest problem I had whith them is the fact that the d pad is very rough. This resulted in blisters on my thumbs trying to preform the circular speed movments required by street fighter.

I'm re-asking this:
Do you need to use the d-pad? Left thumbstick doesn't work in-game? Cuz so far there's been no comment on that. Please tell me and don't make fun of me...

And damn I can't wait to go back to the states, plug in my 360, delete older crap to free up space, and start downloading all the stuff I missed this last month!

I dont know for sure, but I would imagine it would work. Most of the rereleases Ive played of SF2 le you use the stick.

And Im not making fun of you, but have you ever tried to play SF2 w/ an analog stick?

Ive tried and its horrible. Its nearly impossible to do an "awwwwwyoubitch" (aka dragon punch).

It looks to me like the pad is fine, according to comments here. Tehres some complainers about the pad, but isnt there ALWAYS??

"Forum posters are reporting that you can quit out of a ranked match with impunity. Eight months of QA and nobody noticed this?

This makes competitive online play completely useless, as the leaderboards will be dominated by griefers."

This is my biggest gripe about Xbox Live. A loss for quitting out of an online ranked match on any game ought to be standard on all titles. (People should be able to quit player matches, however.)

There's no recourse with these people. If you leave them "quit early" feedback, they just do the same to you.

Actually in response to the left analog stick...it does work. I used to be a really good player and I find myself using it more than the D-pad. I can't do and SPD with it (at all), but it works fine if not sadly a little better for everything else. Fireballs, dragon punches, etc. all fly out normally just like you were using a joystick. Even the tough timing things like blocking and dragon punching out of blockstun works just fine.

I dont know about anybody else but i am finding the difficulty insane (4th round best so far after 30 matches). The d-pad is pretty shoddy too find it more like a flat analogue stick and for people with larger hands its in a bit of an arkward place. Overall quite dissapointed to be honest, just dosen't seem to be the game i played as a kid.

Damnit - waiting so long for SF2 and now i can't controll that thing.

i press backwards and the guy jumps. or crouch.
for one fireball of ryu i need 3 trys(!)
guess my d-pad sucks more than yours...

i loved this game on SNES/Superfamicon, but on XBLA?

the singleplayer is way too hard - i can't even beat cpu-ryu on normal difficulty. he spams about 1000 fireballs and kills me with no problem.

on multiplayer i have to try about 10 rooms to get 1 opponent. it sez "unable to join" or "timeout".

the only hyper on this game is the ammount of frustration. at least with my crappy d-pad. i almost crushed the controller on a wall. omg.

I have played about 25 matches with the game and although I am having some issues with the lobbies and transfering from the lobbies to the actual gameplay, the actual netplay aspect of the game is really smooth. Although I do agree that the lobby system needs to be updated so it does not drop as much before the games starts, the online play is really impressive and virtually lag free. I think I have only experienced lag in about 3-4 games out of the 25 I've played.

If you are a Street Fighter fan, you most likely already downloaded the game.

If you are not, wait until the lobby/quarter match system gets patched, then give it a run.

I have to say that, slightly dodgy d-pad aside, this game is pretty good, I mean it only costs you £5...
It definitely recreates the original well, although I think it would be better if you had more characters, eg Cammy, the Bruce Lee dude (Fei Long??) etc.
I have been getting the same problems with timeouts in ranked matches..Ive not managed to play a single online game that way...
The only way I could play online was when my friend invited me.
