What Sony inspired product? I thought this was a post about GTA toys... Last I checked GTA started on PC and has seen life on most consoles since... or was that a joke about the price difference between cold-cast statues and lego-man knock-offs?

They may be 1/4 the price but they're less than 1/4 as cool.

"According to the sales page, the action figure line has been in development for two years. Judging by the images, we're going to assume it wasn't a full-time project."

Not sure you read the description page right:

"The Grand Theft Auto Kubrick line has been in development for two years, with each figure lavished with the legendary attention to detail that both Rockstar Games and Medicom Toy Corporation are known for.

Following in the success of the Grand Theft Auto III Kubrick (released late 2005), we are proud to announce the release of the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Kubricks."

2 years for the whole line, which includes the previously-released GTA3 Kubrick figures.

Store near me has the GTA3 ones that came out last year. $50 for them, for 5 fake-lego "things".

Do people actually buy these things? I see them in clearance bins all the time. Frankly, if they were giving them away I still can't see myself picking up a set no matter what popular license they were based on.

The tower records in my area has been selling these for a couple of years now. Nobody ever buys them though. Might pick them up next time.

"Barbie caught in hot coffee scandal?"

....If you play with barbies and legos simultaneously, you would probably create an inter-dimensional rift around your house, sucking you and your family back to the dinosaur age.
Or so I've heard.
