Swarm Dead Rising producer at signing tomorrow
Despite his name, Keiji Inafune clearly isn't the wary type, opting to appear in public tomorrow and openly inviting gamers to inundate him with requests to sign their copies of Dead Rising. The esteemed developer's latest game, yet another entry into the zombie-ridden shopping mall sim genre, has already generated a great deal of buzz, possibly because it allows you to beat undead cretons to a pulp with baseball bats, benches and finely matured wheels of cheese. If you plan on attending the signing event tomorrow, here's what you need to know:
- Date: Tuesday, August 8, 2006
- Time: 4:00PM - 6:00PM
- Location: EB Games, Redmond Town Center
16495 NE 74th Street
Redmond, Washington 98052 (Tel. 425-895-8331) - Demeanor: Approachable, but may unexpectedly and infrequently lunge

Ahh! I was already excited about this game, but now twice as much! I live about 10 minutes from that mall! A signed zombie game I will HAVE.

When there is no more room in hell, the developers will roam the earth.
Or Redmond, at least.

Thats awesome, too bad my xbox 360 got the three red lights yesterday. I had come home from a long weekend and was stoked to download the dead rising demo. I turned on the 360, found the demo, started the download and began deleting stuff on my hard drive that i didnt need anymore. Apparently the 360 doesn't like you deleting demos while downloading one in the process and as a result the dashboard froze on me. I restarted the machine and it gave me the three red lights. I unplugged everything including the hard drive and instead of 3 lights only the lower right was lit. I replugged everything back in and again i get 3 lights. I never thought it could happen to me, but it did. I doesn't make any sense to me that deleting files off a hard drive could cause the entire system to fail. Needless to say, I'm pissed off that i can't play Dead Rising when it comes out this week.

Okay, what has to happen is that everybody has to dress up as a zombie and swarm at once.
Zero_ @ Aug 8th 2006 2:45AM
To anyone going: Please hassle Infaune for one last Megaman Legends game. Please!

Holy crap BV, that's what happened to my 360 also.. for some odd reason it's locking up on demo games of late, and i got the three red lights also.. I turned it off and on a couple of times, tried to remove the harddrive and it went back to normal.. Which was odd, however, it froze on me again tonight.. im growing worried..
FreeCajunLove @ Aug 8th 2006 6:29AM
BV and gombard,
Same thing started happening to me when I try to download the demo: 3 lights (missing the top right).

I had this happen with my 360 about a month after I got it. I called the service department, sent it out to Microsoft. They sent me back a REFURBISHED unit. Plugged it in, still got the red lights. Turns out it wasn't the system at all. It was the power supply. And that's the three red lights with the top right one out. A good way to check: Push the power button on your 360 and watch the power supply light. If it goes red even for a split second when you push the button, the power supply has gone bad and needs replacement. In my case, the system didn't turn on at all and I had the red lights. I just thought I'd throw out this little bit of information to help you guys out in case it happens to be the same problem I had. I did manage to get Microsoft to send me a brand new unit instead of a refurbished one (I was able to send it back after TONS of fighting with customer service over it.) and I'd hate to see someone else lose all their game progress by having their system replaced. (They require that you send in the hard drive with it if it is a premium console...and if they replace the console, you won't be getting it back.)
Just a little info. If it is the power supply, all you have to do is call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and they will send you a new power supply. You'll just have to send back the old one in the box the new one comes in.
Anyway, sorry for being off topic. Just thought I'd try to help out. :)
On topic, EB Games told me they won't have this game in store until tomorrow. So....I guess I'm just going to have to wait another day. And to think...I even have a pre-order on it. :. Ah well. I hope its awesome.
All Your Lost Socks @ Aug 8th 2006 12:03PM
Hahh.. x.x I live TWO HOURS FROM THERE and I'm at WORK. Work!! Who needs it, anyway?!
...Oh. Right. That's how I planned to make the money to get the game. >.>
I expect pictures. :D
VampireHunter Z @ Aug 8th 2006 12:17PM
Is the mall in the game a real mall? If it is that where he should do his signing.
Thryon @ Aug 8th 2006 12:45PM
Ethan Thomas:
Are you in Canada? Just wondering as I have to wait an extra day. EBGames blamed it on the holiday yesterday. Either way, I am totaly stoked about this game. I actualy pre-purchased it last year, when the expected release date was not confirmed.
...for today, I shall continue to walk around the office goin......brains....brains...BRAINS....brains...

Actually, no. I'm in Texas. And for some reason, our EB will not have any copies of the game until tomorrow. I just called about fifteen minutes ago just to make sure.
On that note, I'd like to make a proposal. How about instead of listing SHIP dates as RELEASE dates, companies be upfront about it and show the RELEASE date? Sure, its only a one day difference. Which also begs the question, so why not?
Probably because it lets them make it sound as if the game is coming out that much sooner..thus drawing people into the store on Tuesday only to find out they won't have it til Wednesday but they can STILL reserve it..thus making a very lame attempt at spiking reservation percentages on crap titles that we all know will be available at all ends of the earth. Software doesn't sell out easily anymore. They told me Oblivion would be hard to find. So I pre-ordered it. When I picked it up, the sales associate had to swim through 500 non-reserved copies to FIND my reservation. What a joke.
