While I know nothing of texas hold 'em, if it supports more than 4 players it might take over the spot Uno has in my heart.

I can't wait for Texas Hold Em'. Hopefully they'll figure a way to make gambling a part of this game without being able to use XBL points or Cash.

XBLA is heating up, that's for sure!

I used to waste many afternoons at the local arcade playing Time Pilot. Awesome game.

Texas Hold'em and Lumines are going to kick ass. Can't wait.

Sweet, I can't wait for Hold'em. Ohh and the connection is that Yoshiki Okamoto was the lead designer on both of them.

Yoshika Okamoto is the connection, he designed Time Pilot, then went on to design several hits, 1942, Gyruss, Final Fight, and Street Fighter, pretty impressive list of games for your resume I would say.

GameSpot is reporting that Microsoft has not officially announced its coming XBLA lineup and that this is all rumor so far.

I'll be honest- I had to look up scramble on wikipedia to remember what it looked like.

Now that I have, I'm /still/ looking forward to Lumines and Hold 'em. Couple points about this.

First, with Saints Row, Dead Rising, Lumines, and Hold 'Em released in the same month, the rumors of a 360 August swoon have been greatly exaggerated. It's Quality, not quantity! Four (presumably) high-quality titles in one month is enough- my wallet can't take much more than that.

Second, I don't know that Scramble is going to do all that well. I like the retro thing- I'm loving Galaga- and welcome it to the XBLA. But the fact is, it's not just graphics that have been making strides in the last twenty five years. Gameplay has (obviously) been greatly improved as well. These micropayments add up after a while, and $5 each for a taste of nostalgia, but nowhere near the depth of gameplay we're accustomed to, is going to wear thin rather quickly.

It all boils down to this: If Time Pilot was 200 points, I'd buy it. At 400, probably not, and at 800 there's no way. I don't see why developers/publishers don't realize this. Unless of course there's a price floor of 400 for arcade titles.

If that's the case, I'm going to have to go ahead and ask you all to ignore most of the above. That'd be greeeeaaat. Sthaaaanks.

Scramble:

There's your screenshot. Besides, just because the big M hasn't confirmed it, doesn't mean it isn't true. Chalk it up to rumor if it makes you feel better.

Scramble? Obscure?! Maybe it's my age (over 30) but for me it was a pretty significant arcade title at the time.

Roll on Defender!

I never liked Scramble all that much. Time Pilot would be grand. Gyruss would be wonderful. Ms. Pacman is also on my list.

Scramble was a huge hit in it's day. I seriously doubt that means it's obscure. If anything, it's just old. Time Pilot on the otherhand, was more of a moderate hit in the arcades. It's sequel, Time Pilot 84-- not that was obscure!

Speaking of obscure, one of my all-time favorites.. Mystic Marathon. It was incredbily hard but fun.
