In what will surely rile up the PSP fanbase, Sony recently unveiled its next communications and media portable – the mylo, which borrows its media and design features from the PSP. But unlike the PSP, it does not play video games or UMDs. Instead, Sony has included several features PSP gamers have been begging for since the PSP's launch, like a keyboard and built-in flash memory.
The mylo, which stands for "My Life Online," features a slide-up 2.4-inch screen, WiFi, 1GB of flash memory, VoIP capabilities via Skype, instant messaging, web access, media playback capabilities and a Memory Stick slot. It can be all yours next month for the hefty price of $350.
You may ask yourself why Sony didn't just include these features in a redesigned PSP, and quite frankly, I don't know why either. With Nintendo trouncing the PSP in Japan, I believe it would have been a great move to combat the DS Lite. Sigh.
