PC gets F.E.A.R online for free, console gets pacman for a $10. Rofl

I've been sorta unhappy with some of the latest arcade ports to Xbox live. Especially frogger.

I saw Sonic the Hedgehog on the XBLA Montage video, but haven't heard anything about it since. I hope it's a planned release, because it's my most anticipated XBLA title.

First. its 5 dollars, not 10. Secondly, Its a arcade perfect version of pac-man, with achievments, and online ranking with the original cabinet art all over the screen.

Finally. 5 dollars is 20 quarters. How much would you pay to play it again, indefinitely, throughout the life of your 360?

I don't believe there is anything saying that it can't ALSO be on XBLA, since its on Gametap and a crapload of other places, I'm just sayin, I think Nintendo wouldn't want it on their competitors online thingy is its a major draw of their console.

I bought my 360 to play next gen games, not first gen.

I might consider paying 5 bucks for it if I could just pay 5 bucks, but I can't buy just 400 points. I gotta buy 1200, which I don't need right now. Like tokens in an arcade...how apt.

The game is really damn tiny when my tv converts it to widescreen with letterbox.

Have fun, while bashing on 360 owners? How about a big FU to U! $5 is pocket change you cheap asses! Why is it you can't have a post about 360 without some lamer PS3 loser shooting off his smart mouth. I easily dropped $5 in quarters when this game was in the arcade I don't mind paying to have it forever with leaderboards, achievements, etc. I wish Sony would get that console out already so the fanboys can see that it's not going to deliver on the hype. Case in point, so if you can play PacMan for free in the web browser, does it support FLASH? or whatever language the game is written in? Just because you have a browser doesn't mean it will play.

the PSPs web browser supports flash, so, umm, yeah, it was already announced that this will be a fully functional browser, capable of supporting flash and java. I just like pointing out to 360 owners, that after they say the PS3 is too expensive, that they end up spending more than that on $50 a year live, and arcade games that you could play on the internet for free. hence the gif attatched to the link in my name.

I don't hate the PS3 for it's price, but for it's complete lack of an interesting game library. All the PS3 has going for it, in terms of games, are a shitload of Japanese titles that I wouldn't touch with a barge pole (although that is just personal preferance). There are perhaps one or two announced games for the PS3 that even remotely interest me.

I said there are maybe one or two games announced for the PS3 that interest me, and that does certainly not warrant the purchase of a new console.
And by the way, Assasins Creed will also be available for the Xbox 360.

Ethan, I guarantee he wasn't the first nor the last fan to be disillusioned with MS. In fact if someone can't compare their personal preferences with what corporations offer, they are likely blind fanboys (a stage of personal growth that is likely to be grown out of, once you develop a personal identity).

400 MSP in CAD is $6.40. This is not a micro-transaction. Like everybody said, there's tons of places where you can play Pac-Man for free. 200 points is the maximum I would pay for something I can get for free at other places.

I think all this marketplace thing is a big rip-off. PC games cost less than X360 software and with PC games there's map-packs and things like that that are generally free... I like my 360 but I can see why many people hate MS.

Well it clearly is. He updated all of us on the fact that the PS3 system will boast an IE of sorts from which you can download and play Pac Man and 100 million other ROMS for free. You can call me crazy but that's a lot better then spending $10 Canadian on the same game.

Im not a fanboy, Im like the progressive auto insurance commercials, "and no one likes to be wrong". Xbox 360 may be cheaper in the begginning, but you have to see if their services are worth the initial low cost. PS3 is like progressive, it is a little more expensive in the beginning, but their services (free online) make up for it. whereas microsoft is gieco, you pay a little less, but if your car gets totalled (or you want to play live or arcade games) you will end up having to pay more out of your pocket in the long run. Now I know Im not Hideo Kojima, but I can still make up some comparisons myself.

We want a YouTube of gaming. Completely open and free to offer content (arcade games, music, themes, graphic packs) and have it rated by user feedback. Disband your elitist "portfolio" council entirely, no one is interested in limiting the selection of available content to that deemed to have a favorable risk/reward ratio by corporate managers except YOU, Microsoft. We know you want to lock down your platform to make sure no one creates something compelling enough to make your movie-license games and infinite-sequels look like terrible games, but you're hurting the gamers, the community, the entire market, and YOURSELF by keeping XBLA a cronies-only affair.

I'd love to have the opportunity to make some neat games for XBLA, perhaps educational type games like are faring so well on the DS. How about some games to help people learn Japanese? A lot of people are interested in such a thing. But I'm not going to mortgage my house just so I can buy a devkit and then have you take 90% of the revenue of the game (since when does the CREATOR of things only get a FINDERS FEE?).

As for Pac-Man, I say why not? Not everyone who has Xbox Live has a computer to go play those games for free on anyway. My dad is the only person I know personally to have beaten that game all the way through. I'm not so good at it myself, but heck, I'd play it on a day when I'm feeling a bit nostalgic. (Looks over just in time to see Ethan and T-Bag glance up from playing Lumines on their PSPs upon hearing such a large, complex word) Eh..don't worry fellas. Grown up talk. Pac-man is a good game and all but I would rather go to Burning Man and ride the car art then pay to play it on XBLA. Of course I don't own a 360 so it would be kind of an expensive investment, but if I did then $5 would probably be stretching my limits on what I would pay. I have to hand it to MS though, at least they are releasing stuff for it.

I'd rather wait for Ms. Pac-Man. Everyone knows it's far superior to the boring, repetitive original Pac-Man.

I agree Ms. PacMan is far superior and way more enjoyable to play than the original. With the scoring system and artwork, this seems to be an ok deal, but there are plentry of places to play pacman for free.
