the story looks intresting but the graphics, THEY SEE SO SO SO OUT-DATED.
Akz @ Aug 10th 2006 6:36PM
It seems like a school version of GTA, where the school would be the city, and there would be different factions where the main character would do missions for! What do u think? Still looks cool though.. Akz

Honestly, I've been waiting on this one for a long time and sadly, if the game trailer has anything to do with it, then I feel it's not going to have anything fulfilling. Perhaps it's me, but I really couldn't tell what was actual gameplay in there. I give it a "meh" for excitement level.
alan @ Aug 10th 2006 6:38PM
I wasn't impressed by any of it. Maybe if I could see some actual game play I might change my mind. But it still won't make me buy a PS3.
EezerGoode @ Aug 10th 2006 6:40PM
A friend of mine has done some of the 3d animations and voice syncs for this game.
He says the dialogue is hilarious. He also mentioned that when he was doing the dialogue animations for Manhunt it deep disturbed him.
Night Elve @ Aug 10th 2006 6:43PM
Well i will buy this game :D
B33 @ Aug 10th 2006 6:48PM
"I wasn't impressed by any of it. Maybe if I could see some actual game play I might change my mind. But it still won't make me buy a PS3."
Bully is a PS2 exclusive... Why would you buy a PS3 to play it?
Hiro Protagonist @ Aug 10th 2006 6:50PM
alan: "4. I wasn't impressed by any of it. Maybe if I could see some actual game play I might change my mind. But it still won't make me buy a PS3."
Good, it shouldn't, because it's for the PS2.
bazald @ Aug 10th 2006 6:54PM
It would certainly be silly to release it in October if it required a PS3 to run. Even so, I'm definitely planning on buying a PS3 to play this game ;)
PhantomVI @ Aug 10th 2006 6:57PM
It didn't look too bad...
But I keep wondering: why does "Jimmy" sound like he's 25 years old?
Dizzy the Egg @ Aug 10th 2006 7:02PM
oh god this looks so good, i'll be playing this on my ps3!
Zeldathebest @ Aug 10th 2006 7:04PM
Are u fucking kidding me #9 your gonna buy a ps3 for that game lol. That game looks like it makes no sense what so ever. It looks like a bad teenage comdey. So your gonna spend 500+ dollars to play a bad game. fucking fanboy how about u buy a ps3 for a game worth throwing away 500 dollars. The game looks so stupid but hey thats my opinion.
Will @ Aug 10th 2006 7:25PM
Didn't see so much violence, but I did see making out. Congress will probably crap on that somehow.
Ocho @ Aug 10th 2006 7:25PM
Oh damn, this is going to be the freshest PS3 launch title!
PiratePete @ Aug 10th 2006 7:25PM
Looks good. So what the graphics are not the latest. As long as it plays well I'll take that over pretty graphics any day. Should be interesting.
I can even see this coming out as a movie one day.
Binome @ Aug 10th 2006 7:32PM
The graphics look dated, beacause its a PS2 game, not PS3. I'll wait for a xbox or wii port, not a ps3 one.
frodo @ Aug 10th 2006 7:40PM
Playing this on my ps3 will truly be a transcendental experience.
Jeremy Wright @ Aug 10th 2006 7:41PM
Yep, graphics are crap. I'm okay with that, though. Bit concerned with Rockstar releasing the Conker of the PS2 though...
Seroth @ Aug 10th 2006 7:46PM
Looks interesting, but I don't like the look of the main character, and I usually like bald main characters.
AoE @ Aug 10th 2006 7:48PM
Wow... I think I finally understand how sony fanboys can remain sony fanboys... they don't read! ;)
For all of you that are excited about playing this on ps3... sorry to dissapoint, but it's a ps2 exclusive. And yes Ocho, that means it's not a ps3 launch title, sorry. I'm shocked you guys couldn't tell when seeing the graphics in the trailer...
Either way, looks like fun stuff, and I would happily play it if it were on a non-sony console; but it's not, so... meh.
Phil @ Aug 10th 2006 7:57PM

I don't own a PS2. I wouldn't buy a PS2 because the PS3 is coming out around the corner, that's why I said, "it still won't make me buy a PS3." Thanks to everyone who thinks I care enough to know whether it's PS2 or 3 or for your momma.
P.S. You missed the point, the game looks like crap.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm have we forgotten that the PS3 is backwards compatible? For those of you who are slow that means PS2 exclusive equals PS3 compatible. So why wouldn't the Sony fanboys be excited about this game? I know a lot of folks who will be walking in gamestop/ebgames with PS2's in hand on PS3 launch day.
Can we please act like we are older than 12 and stop all this bashing of other systems (those under 12 or with mindsets that small are excused). You don't like the PS3 DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!!!!! You don't like the 360, PSP, or DS, DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!! and quit adding your .02 cents to every article about either with ..."this or that sucks." Let those who are fans enjoy the article and GET A FRICKIN LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway game looks interesting, I'll wait for more deets before passing judgement.
Cabbage @ Aug 10th 2006 8:41PM
Binome-
Considering this game was scrapped for Xbox already (probably due to Microsoft's complete abandonment of the platform and its poor game sales of late), you'll be waiting a long time to see it ported. Unless Rockstar lets Bully play with your Wii. Unlikely, however much you'd enjoy it (sorry for the bad humor).
Neil @ Aug 10th 2006 8:41PM
Wait a minute, no aliens, elves, zombies, gangsters, platform jumping, and corridor shooting? Sign me up.
Also the main character's voice sounds just like the main character's voice in Warriors.
angusm @ Aug 10th 2006 8:44PM
Looks cool to me.
fat boy @ Aug 10th 2006 9:09PM
The game seems sort of targeted at a middle school/early high school demographic (why else would the protagonist be so short?). The idea of a prep school sim doesn't get me too amped. Looks like it could be fun though.
Good to see there are girls in the game; for a while there it was looking like one big gay S&M fest.
Andrew @ Aug 10th 2006 9:24PM
I think it actually looks pretty cool! Think it'l be M? If it is, Congress will have plenty of fuel for their fires.
Rick James, bitch @ Aug 10th 2006 9:29PM
What? No hookers? Fuck this game.
Hiro Protagonist @ Aug 10th 2006 10:04PM
NEWS FLASH:
A new Hot Coffee like mod has been made for Bully, it goes under the name "Hot Chocolate". Apparently Rockstar hid a batch of code in the PC version of the game which can be unlocked with a fan-made mod. Your teacher asks you if you want to come in for some cookies and hot chocolate but the fun ends there as the teacher and the protagonist get involved in sexual acts (just like in real life).
The ESRB, Jack Thompson and high school teachers are all over it.
Andrew Yoon @ Aug 10th 2006 10:27PM
Wow, there's a lot of cynicism in the comments. I'll say it looks cool, sorta like Andrew #27. Hmm...
Jeff @ Aug 10th 2006 10:40PM
I don't get it. What am I supposed to like about this game again?
Rockstar often releases "teaser" trailers for their games before they release "actual" trailers for their games, and this appears to be one of the former variety. Still, though, teasers work for games like GTA because the atmosphere of the game is cool in itself. But this game is set in a prep school. It's about as uncool as possible. So showing a bunch of cut-scenes just isn't doing anything for me. I mean, great; a kid getting a wedgie. Another kid complaining about bullies. Ummm, yeah? What else you got?
I think Rockstar may have succeeded in their stated goal of making everybody feel like they're at school while playing this game. I'm starting to think that whole company has turned into one big joke on the gaming public. I think they're convinced that we'll play pretty much anything as long as it's got that R* logo on it.
fagaymer @ Aug 10th 2006 11:31PM
Looks like the Sony exclusives just keep on coming. This is going to be a popular game. I can't wait to get this to play when I get my new PS3...Backwards Compatibility is so important to me! I'll also have to pick up God of War 2!
zombunny @ Aug 11th 2006 2:38AM
I'm very pleased by that trailer. :)
Even with the obvious fact that the footage comprises for the most part of cutscenes, what's shown points towards a game, that looks like it could be great fun to play! Lots of the things I wanted to see included appear to have been, in terms of Jimmy's interaction with the school, which is good.
They've quite surpassed what I thought they'd show, tbh. (Although, I didn't know what to expect.)
It looks like an entertaining game, that's going to be well worth the time, for everyone that isn't utterly impaired by "mature" blinkers, to the extent that they'll be able to see Bully as a game in its own right, and not just an "incontroversial Rockstar game". *sighs*
Realise that any "Bully is going to damage our kids" style Thompson-baiting coverage was (at least from the impression of the trailer) wide of the mark - Not that a lot of the more sensationlist reporting often isn't. But, I don't blame reporters. Those guys didn't have the full game, or in all likelihood a renotely complete one, from which to judge. After that, look at what is there, rather than what isn't. This game isn't a sequel; and therefore, shouldn't be judged as such.
#5, if your story about your friend is true, be sure to let him know that the voicework in the trailer is indeed hilarious, and imho very well done. :)
It's a humorous game, not a bloody one. You want to play a humourous game? The enrol queue will be forming outside your favourite games store, in October.
Rich @ Aug 11th 2006 4:56AM
The lead character looks uncannily like Wayne Rooney.
Bob @ Aug 11th 2006 5:18AM
When I was teenager, back in the 80s (huh!), there was a game for British 8-bit computer called Skool Daze (you can get PC remake here). I didn't like real skool but I didn't mind playing the game. It was real fun, you even had a gratuitous slingshot violence. If you are not die hard FPS/RTS/RPG fan this might turn out as a decent game.
mike @ Aug 11th 2006 3:12PM

Obviously because most of these readers were wedgied like the kids in the game...
Bit of a marketing dilemma
