Improv sketch comedy at Pokemon Day

The wacky sketch-comedians over at Olde English were going to film a sketch in New York's Bryant park this weekend when they ran smack dab into Nintendo's Pokemon Day. Instead of going home dejected, they made the best of the situation and did some improv Pokemon comedy on the spot. Die-hard pokefans might not like the disrespectful tone of some of the jokes, but anyone who can't laugh at the kid who's jealous of the level 200 Rayquaza probably has no soul.

That kid definately said "kwanzaa" and not "rayquaza".

I thought he said "kwanzaa" too, but the only real pokemon name that even comes close is Rayquaza. Thank god for google.

Hurrah for Olde English! Bard College alums, they are. Mmmm, yes.
Fun fact: OE often rocks the videogame love! In their recent sketch "Raizin and Adam Live Together" [ http://www.oldeenglish.org/podcast/raizin-and-adam-live-together ], Adam can be seen playing Cave Story! With the music and everything!

I wouldn't be too jealous of the level 200 Rayquaza, as anyone using one immediately gets branded as a cheater. A stupid one at that, since he didn't make a Pokémon that is remotely possible by legitimate means.
Of course, I found a way to extend the over level 100 cheat from R/B to get a Mewtwo (among others) at level 0 (without a separate device), where every Pokémon except Shedinja has the same stats.

The Sonic the Hedgehog one was funny too, though I laughed when I saw the dude from Joystiq's post in the girl outfit say "Poh-KAY-man" and had that short, awkward silence and waved...
I feel bad for all the people that had to dress up for that. "POKEMON IS AWESOME!" Tell me girl, when you took the paycheck for that gig, did you trade off your soul, too?
