Did you guys see that the Madden 2007 demo is up on Live!? I just finished downloading it. I haven't seen any of news sites with this update yet. Go get it! Word? Word.
Brian @ Aug 13th 2006 7:59PM
Holy hell, I'm wrong. That's Madden '06. My bad.
Mitsuo Yuikihiro @ Aug 13th 2006 10:08PM
is it just me or does anyone even CARE about a new madden game? I sure don't, it's the same freaking game with a VERY slight change or "improvement" in it.
ImOscarDotCom @ Aug 13th 2006 10:28PM
That, coupled with the fact that Madden on the 360 is a poor excuse for a game. I have far more fun playing Super Pro Football on the Intellivision.
I'm so happy EA has an exclusive lock on the NFL. We're guaranteed year after year of this mindless drivel.

"is it just me or does anyone even CARE about a new madden game? I sure don't, it's the same freaking game with a VERY slight change or "improvement" in it."
actually they did change the game significantly this year, or so i've heard. but don't say that no one cares about it like some dumbass, it's still the highest selling sports game every year.
Mitsuo Yuikihiro @ Aug 13th 2006 10:58PM
ONLY because americans are dumbasses and buy into that shit. If they realise "HEY they just put out the same game every year for $40!" then they won't even buy it. There's only so many A.I. tweeks and new motion captures per year and it's not that much. "OH NOES, J00 IZ WRONG! DEY GOTZ BETTER GRAPHIX!" How gives a rat's ass! big whoop, the comunity isn't about the best graphics. It's about what we play games for(well MOST games), and that's gameplay. I could break out madden 2k and have the same fun as madden 2k6! It's like with the Tony Hawk games. just the same skateboarding game with added features and better graphics.
CYRiX @ Aug 14th 2006 12:23AM
hey THPS is completely different.
Anyways i dont get why everyone hates madden. its not just the game. its the community and the fun of playing against your friends. I like madden for the sole reason of the fact that almost all my friends know how to play it and we can VISIT EACH OTHERS HOUSES to play, and of course have a fun time.
ill trooper @ Aug 14th 2006 1:16AM
OK, Mitsuo, it's a bad look, settle down buddy...
Yeah, man, how did I _just know_ I would come to this post and read about someone upset that yet another Madden is coming out?
Man, I've said it before, I'll say it here, IF YOU"RE INTO THE GAME, IT'S FOR YOU... Otherwise, yeah, it may look like improved graphics are all you're getting - but Mitsuo, did you stop to think 'GAMEPLAY' may have been improved? The elusive 'gameplay' YOU claim is mutually exclusive of good graphics?
I don't play Madden, but I have a lot of friends who love it. Online, at friend's homes, solo, they love it. I mean, give it a break - the real NFL has new players every year, slight rule changes, but it's very similar to what happened last year, what will happen next year... and people STILL love to watch it. Playing the video game is the same way for lots of people - it's their 'HALO' or 'World of Warcraft.'
Just try to visualize things beyond whatever it is YOU enjoy and let others get down with their 'crack.'
Honestly, aren't we all 'dumbasses' at some level for wasting our time and money on videogames anyway?
Jeez.

well said, ill trooper.
Nick @ Aug 14th 2006 4:13AM
well they dont have Mike Bell on the Broncos aka the STARTING RB, and they don't have Marcus Vick on the dolphins.. those are 2 people I noticed missing, maybe I overlooked them.
jc @ Aug 14th 2006 4:13AM
Everyone include me thought the whole exclusivity thing that EA has would really hurt the gaming community but it turns out it hasnt at all. Since EA has a lock on licensed football games, they know it will be a cash cow and put a ton of development dollars behind it. NCAA 07 is fantastic, and madden 07 looks to be even better. Then theres blitz the league for 360 to look forward to....

"they know it will be a cash cow and put a ton of development dollars behind it."
Usually a monopoly + knowing it is a "cash now" means they will half ass it becuase it'll still make money and there is no where else for the consumer to go.
dubz @ Aug 14th 2006 9:21AM
I really hate it when people say things like "Why do people continue to buy a crappy roster update from EA?"
The reason people buy Madden is because A) It's the only football title out B) They are SPORTS FANS, and sports fans that play video games actually are EXCITED by roster updates, and gameplaye changes C) There have been many improvements to the Madden franchise over the years, but if one never actually PLAYS the game, then one may be inclined to believe that every years Madden is simply a "roster update".
I'm sorry but I am sick of all the hate that the Madden franchise gets from nerds that have never played a sport in their life. Hey I'm a nerd, and I can freely admit that, but most of you people probably haven't played a Madden title in like 5 years, and yet you can pawn it off like it's just the same game with "roster updates".....pitiful :(
Todd H. @ Aug 14th 2006 9:48AM
I'll be picking this up on release day, not because I'm a huge Madden fan, but because I love the NFL and it's the only option we have.
I did prefer 2K football, but I must say the last few years of Madden haven't been that bad, I'm looking forward to my first year of Madden on the 360.

I'll be picking this up release day for the 360 as well. Last year's 360 version was very basic. It was like the older years' games, you could play seasons and that was about it. This year it should be a lot better. I'm looking forward to it.
On the missing Marcus Vick and Mike Bell; Vick is currently like 8 or 9 on the WR depth chart, he most likely won't make the team. Bell is a big one though. However, because he is a rookie (and not a top pick), they'll probably have him in an updated roster. Madden seems to have updated rosters a couple times a week if not daily.

I have to say the changes mad on Madden every year drastically change the way the game is played. If you look at the past few years the truck stick was added as well as QB vision (a lot of people did not like qb vision but after practicing with it and getting it down it is great in my opinion). This year they added the run blocking feature where you can switch back and forth between blocker and runner. These are major gameplay updates. If you want a series that is repetitive look at Dynasty Warriors and games along that line. I prepurchased Madden for the 360 and cant stop wait for it to come.
donnell @ Aug 20th 2006 1:02PM

Sean @ Aug 21st 2006 6:21PM
There is always the nay-sayer, the "madden pumps out the same pile of crap every year" guy. to you guy, if you dont like it dont buy it. Just because you dont think its a cool new game doesnt make everyone who does go buy it "americans are dumbasses". I buy madden every year and will continue to do so. Sure there arent any HUGE HUGE changes but the trick is, madden does not need huge changes. They revamp areas and make them better every year all while leaving us with the solid gameplay we all love. Even if it was just for new rosters and the chance to play in the new cardinals stadium i would be buying this game but thats not all, lead blocker controls, new awesome superstar mode, better animations and charectorization, etc etc etc. This game has a ton of new stuff i cannot wait to check out and i for one hope madden never goes through any serious changes, ive never seen a better football in the entire time madden has been out and its not gonna change.
In conclusion have fun whining and bitching about how you dont want to buy it, in the meantime i will own it and spend many many many hours on it all while smiling like im 10 years old again.
Go cardinals

i live for madden and the only thing i dont like is they always have the roster incorrect i rather have them come out later on like September 12 so they can have the roster right
