I'd like to see how many game units have been sold vs. NSMB and Brian Age.

1. I'd like to see how many game units have been sold vs. NSMB and Brian Age.

And after that, we'll compare apples and oranges.

The Original Xbox also had very high attach rates for Titles sold. No surprise that the trend is continuing.

I can understand the 4.6 per console since i own 5 games and i am an average player not to crazy but not light either.

It will be interesting to see what sort of attach rates the PS3 can pull off. I wander if anyone will be able to afford games after coughing up so much money for the console.

Well I am glad that allot of other people are surprised by the 4.6 game figure. I have only had my 360 since December and I already have 7 titles and I do not consider myself much more then a casual gamer.

Also with the accessories figure. I am curious how they can accurately gauge this since extra controllers could be used my a Window XP machine? When the wireless steering wheel, video camera, and HD-DVD drive come out that 2.9 will probably be closer to the 4.6 number.

I think that the new XNA program will be very cool and will hopefully open up tons of possibilities. Possibly games in the educational field, or games for small children.

#2 I was being skeptical b/c I feel 360 is not selling as many games as MS would like us to believe.

I've had a 360 since launch day, and I've got 11 games, not including Arcade and whatnot. I don't consider myself a "hardcore" gamer, but I'm not really a casual gamer either.

What's the attach rate for the OG Xbox? How many games per console were sold over it's history? That's what I'd like to know, I've got like 30 original Xbox games, and I've probably bought and traded at least twice that. If anyone could bust out some numbers, that'd rock.

"Of course, this is somewhat misleading as Microsoft has made accessory purchases somewhat essential (battery chargers, play n' charge, memory card, etc.)."

Actually, none of the aforementioned accessories are essential. The controller came with a pack for regular AA batteries and a HDD pretty much negates the neccessity of a memory card. I think MS did do a great job of making these accessories enticing and have a good market plan by making cash back where they lose it on consoles. I admit that buying accessories for my 360 is almost as enjoyable as buying games for it. I can't wait for the camera. So do I feel like a sucker? Nah, as long as I enjoy my spending, I feel like I'm in control, lol...

Need for Speed
Fight Night Round 3
LOTR: BFME
Battlefield 2
GR:AW
Far Cry
PREY

That's seven for me and like 5 or 6 Xbox Live arcade titles as well.

The accessories are no more essential then other Consoles. Espically durring launch period. I think less then PS1/PS2/GC. I mean, i remember when you HAD to drop $40 for a memory card at PS2 launch... and to make matters worse, there was a MC shortage at PS2 launch.
