Add Blazing Angels to PS3 launch list

The Xbox 360 and PC squad-based Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII has now been confirmed by Ubisoft to be a PlayStation 3 launch title. Having already been revealed recently as a Wii launch title, the Ubisoft plane shooter now completes its next-gen console presence.

What's even better for Sony fans is that the PS3 version will "include all-new missions, a 16-person multiplayer mode, and a use for the PS3's tilt function."

So, for those wondering just what was launching with the PS3, now you have at least one more to add to your list.

Oh good, now PS3 launch is getting all the mediocre 360 games...

Kidding aside, at least *someone* has confirmed something for launch. I'm interested to see what else makes it whether I get a PS3 at launch or not. (And most likely not.)

Either Ubisoft scaling back the game DRASTICALLY for the Wii, or the PS3 is really that far ahead of developer abilities right now.

...what? Where did you get that idea? The game's already out on 360, and it's launching with Wii, which launches before the PS3. There's three pieces of evidence that the game is not being 'made for the PS3'. It's already been made, and is being tweaked to fit each next-gen system's intricacies.

Honestly, I consider myself a Wii fanboy at times, but I haven't decieved myself into thinking that the Wii is PS3-powerful. That's kind of absurd.

This is out on the xbox too, so the Wii can handle it fine. The only thing is the game is weak. The screens look great, but the game kind of sucks.

I didn't really care much for Blazing Angels on the 360, bit so so. But i haven't forgotten how HAWT you were at your little party, i see a few others noticed too, not to freak you out or anything ;)

Blazing Angels and Full Auto are two of the worst XBOX 360 games. The PS3 is getting shovelware early on.

I make no illusions to myself about the limits of the Wii.

I just think that developers won't be really taking advantage of the PS3's power for quite some time.

The same game may come out on current gen and next gen at the same time, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it looks/plays the same on both systems.

Comparing the Wii version to the 360/PS3 version would be like comparing the same game on the GameCube version to the 360 version... no contest.

I'll be curious to see how the PS3 version compares to the 360 version, though (not comparing the extra features, but the actual gameplay and look of the game).

Btw....

I AM implying that graphical differences won't be that drastic until the 2nd or even 3rd generations of games.

I think this game being released for both DOES imply that programmers are able to make better use of Wii's graphical capabilities than the PS3's...IN THE SHORT RUN.

I'm loving it already !!! Of course the PS3 and all of the other consoles are gonna have their own exclusives, but it seems so far that the PS3 is going to get all kinds of additional tweaks and extra content on games that are multi-platform !!!! hell yeah thats what im talkin bout :)
p.s. the PS3 and resistance needs to hurry up and come out already !!!

Seems like developers are dumping their worthless games on the PS3. I don't mean to attack the PS3 but first Sega makes Full Auto 2 an exclusive to the PS3 and then they dump this piece of utter shit on to the system, sucks for those wanting good launch games.

Did I miss something? What other cross platform titles are coming to the PS3 with additional content? The only thing I have heard lately is how many games have been listed as CANCELLED for PS3.

I think this game coming out for the PS3 is an after thought of Ubisoft, probably a ditch effort to have some kind of pressence for the new system. I chalk this up to a game company throwing a bone to a hungry dog, with new content to make the owners seem special.

jokes aside, i bet if anyone can pull off good tilt-functionality on ps3 it'll be ubisoft. they've sure done wonders (from what i can tell) with the wiimote's functionality, so they have some really awesome motion-sensing experience under their belts already. pretty cool.

the more i think about dualshake, the more i realize that it's going to leave ps3 gamers hungry for more when it comes to motion-sensing. sony doesn't even realize it yet, but i bet they'll simply be opening people's minds to wii with games like this. isn't it ironic? dontcha think?

Bought this game on 360 and played through it. Really not that fun. It probably got a lot more sales than its worth since it came out during a 360 game drought

Good thing they didn't create a controller based on a cowbell! That would create a fever for...well, that cliched joke.

On an unrelated note, how is it that anyone is turning this into a pro/anti PS3 rant? The addition of a shitty game doesn't speak anything for or against the system. Seriously, if Joystiq posted a picture of a PS3 with a fly sitting on it, y'all could turn it into a 200 post discussion.

The Darkness got added content due to Blu-Ray according to the devs. I doubt this added content is due to Blu-Ray as there is no way tht game takes up one whole DVD9...that game was ass on 360.

Hopefully they'll update the graphics from the terrible 360 version. It might be playable then.
