Wii will know all Wii need to know ... soon

A Nintendo Spanish magazine, called Nintendo Acción, says that in their Sept. 15 issue that the official price, launch date, and game lineup for the Wii will all be revealed. What does this mean for us? It means that Nintendo will most likely disclose everything (finally) on or before Sept. 15. Which means no more silly rumors about price and release date. We can't tell you what a relief that will be.

But, Go Nintendo throws a "not so fast my friend" in the mix by stating that Nintendo Acción has had some credibility issues in the past. So, it is possible our nightmare rumor mill could still be churning well past Sept. 15.

we better be finding out around say...august 23rd at the LCG or whatever it's called. i can't wait until then and a press event would be the best time

We really need to know by the end of August. I mean, last year, they didn't announce anything official about the 360 as far as launch date/price until August 18th, I believe was the date. Even then, we didn't find out the launch lineup until about two weeks before the launch.

Nintendo needs to give people some time to start planning and get really excited about the system launch.

Didn't Nintendo already state we will know everything BEFORE september? Just wait for the end of August in Germany.

Why even play the part of pawns in this bullshit PR campaign? If the company wants to share the info, they'll share it. If you report on anything else, then you're playing into their marketing schemes.

Nintendo will probably announce it on the 25th Aug. conference they have at the Leipzig conference.

Oy Vey, seriously, Nintendo is master of Non-Information. How much are we told about the Wii's Secrets? We never know Everyting about anything.. despite what we may already know is everything.

Nintendo's conference is on Aug 23rd, titled "Wii Prove Our Promise". And since many believe the quote about information around September actually meant BY or BEFORE September rather than IN Semptember, I'd say chances are pretty good that in a week's time we'll know price and release date.

The set-in-stone launch lineup probably won't be announced until early October. (I'm betting on an Oct 20 - 31 US release).

Any day now we'll get conformation that the wii launched last week and they have already sold eleven million consoles.Really though I'm surprised we haven't gotten a price and release date yet.

I'd rather have Nintendo's approach of "We'll say when it's all set in stone" than Sony's "Yeah, its a few weeks before our 'scheduled' launch date, and we're gonna go ahead and push that back to late 2006"

Dude, it'd be awesome if Nintendo's press release was "Please open up your front door, there should be a FedEx package from us with a Wii in it. You know you wanted one anyways bitch."
