The PS3 versions side by side

I'm sorry but all you guys who always hatin' on pS3 are pretty lame. You have Microsoft rep's who try and make it sound like a great deal to get the 360 and the Wii, two systems against 1. Nice, and always complaning about the price. Please shut it, if you're not going to get one then don't. "Oh PS3 is too much." Well I'm gonna spend $400.00 on an I-Pod and over $100.00 in accesories because PS3 is too much. What annoys me with the Wii, is that you don't need to make all those movents to do something. I saw on E3 that Kevin.P from AOTS said it's all the flick of the wrist.
I can see the Wii go down, because it seems the only way to make a game instersting is by exgerrating the movements when it doesn't even take that much movement in the first place.

Call me a fanboy, w/e but it seesm everyone gets called theat when defending the PS3.

Pfft, if they were serious the 60gb version would have woodgrain paneling with that chrome. Oh yea, that would make the 20gb version look WAY inferior.

I still can't stand it's "spider-man" font.

I like the look of the Wii! I'm 31. Style is important to me. I have stylish leather furniture in my living room. Even my PC setup is stylish (a black Shuttle PC, a 24" widescreen LCD, and 1cm-thick planar speakers). The Wii is small and sleek. I could even leave the wireless Wii-motes on my coffee table. Adults and casual gamers have no reason to feel embarrassed about having a stylish little Wii in their living room.

Anyone else notice this is yet another rip off the xbox 360? First they come up with "entitlements", and now they decide to chrome out the more expensive version of their console. Jeez Sony, you're really not helping yourself here.

Say what you want about a 360, but at least its form follows it's function. the ps2 even looks head and shoulders beter than this garbage. Teh concept art guys all overr the web would have this shitty design for breakfast.

anyone who thinks that system looks good has thier heads up thier ass. the hardware masters at sont have managed to coem up with such a generic, formless, worthless, unnatractive design for such an important machine that it is incredible. i mean this shit sucks.

Am I the only person to notice that these final models no longer have the smooth glossy look of the original concept models? Now the PS3 looks quite dull. Although the version with the silver looks a hell of a lot better, as I've thought since they first showed the two models back when they announced that there would be two separate versions of the console.

You people "hatin'" (as Justice put in in comment #51) on the PS3 need to lay off. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Yeah, the 60gb looks tacky as hell...no way I'd choose the 60 purely on asthetics.

#42, I guess you missed the interview a few days ago where Kaz Harai said that they haven't started manufacturing the retail units yet. You really should do a little research before stating "facts".

Considering that the PS3 isn't even out yet and the fact that the retail units are being manufactured as we speak, you can't really prove that statement.

Hells yeah, I like that machine. I like the design, the size has never been an issue to me as it goes on the shelf and stays there, and despite the rumors, it STILL appears that the power adaptor is INTERNAL, so it's gonna stay looking good (of course, if you DO think it looks good), while the 360 becomes a little Bespin Cloud City of a power adaptor, the wireless adaptor, and an HD-DVD drive.

But all of you haters wanted 'the choice,' right? The MIGHTY 'CHOICE!' I DON'T WANT MOVIES ON MY 360! Yeah, yeah, we know. I love my 360, but I also like the PS3 and the Wii! Am I wack, or just a GAMER excited that there are so many great systems out this year?

so, this is something of a tangent to the aesthetic... discussion that's happening, but looking at the huge resolution images on the playstation forums that were provided earlier, it looks like there's something strange going on with the ps3's front usb ports. it looks like the pins are... off, somehow? not aligned according to standards? someone tell me if i'm smoking crack, but if you look at the ports for the 2005 version, they appear to be standard usb. any thoughts? am i hallucinating? is sony accidently revealing something about their controller connections (for the wired controls) here?

Ok well that backs up my statement even more then. Someone who says the 360 is cheap but then makes it seem like the PS3 is of higher quality has their head up their ass...ESPECIALLY when the PS3_RETAIL_ units 'might' not be in production yet. There are however, already debug stations though.

Thats wrong, the 20GB PS3 does not have HDMI, or wifi or the card reader slots.

i like the chrome'd 60gig ps3 best & i think it will look nice and not out of place on my TV stand. the only question for me is how big is it going to be exactly???

out of the 3 new consoles though Wii wins in the looks dept. by far, slim & sexy just like my wife is not, ha ha.

I like the 20 gb model better. Since it has a more solid black then the gloss looking 60 gb one and it looks better with just black. Plus its cheaper all I really need is 20 GB and I'm good...I'm not going to spend an extra $100 for some extra features...I'm good with the $500 one. Plus you can get finger prints easily on chrome.

I don't like Sony creating a class--er, I mean, purchase brackets between consoles and gamers. It's already hard enough with people going "stop complaining and get a job" but when they say that for a $600 system? Bogus.

Heh, you'd think with Sony starting to compare PS3's power with the human brain, you have a PS3 that looked like a pink sponge. :P Can't argue with how it looks right now.

I purchased a 360 for the games, not the looks...as it looks like a squased marsh mellow with smarties stuck on it. You know, somthing really nice to put with your tv sterio etc.

looks like they copied xbox 360 with the shiny metal in the more expensive version, which shows how much more unorigional they are, stealing the controller design ninendo helped them make for the playstation, the harddrive online capablilities and look of the xbox 360 and George Forman's newest grill design...

It's still the ugliest console ever, next to the PS2, but the cheaper version is definately slightly easier on the eye. Maybe I don't get it but it just looks terribly dated to me. Like some cast off high-end CD player from the late eighties.

you all know nothing. Those are (bad) studio max / 3d images of how both the machines will look, but the one on the left is the 'off' one and the right is the 'on' one. The front and playstation logo light up as you turn on the machine. Apaarently it looks sexy as you do it, but i dont care i just want good games.

ROFL!!! Two companies make something with chrome on it, and you say one copied off of the other. C'mon, this is CHROME, the generic cure all for poor design. Also, i'm pretty sure MS and Sony were working on there systems before they were revealed at E3 05'.
