Guitar Hero II gets Guns N' Roses, Euro release date

We only know a handful of the 55 tracks confirmed to appear, including the oft-requested, and recently unveiled (on Gamespot's homepage video), Guns N' Roses track! We don't know about you guys, but with "Sweet Child O' Mine" on the lineup, we're pretty sure we're going to break our knees rocking out. The setlist thus far:
- Stone Temple Pilots' "Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart"
- Anthrax's "Madhouse"
- Mötley Crüe's "Shout at the Devil"
- Reverend Horton Heat's "Psychobilly Freakout"
- KISS' "Strutter"
- Black Sabbath's "War Pigs"
- Butthole Surfers' "Who Was in My Room Last Night?"
- The Kink's "You Really Got Me" as performed by Van Halen
- Rush's "YYZ"
- Primus' "John the Fisherman"
- Drist "Arterial Black"
- Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name Of" (maybe)

Sweet child of mine?
I'm giddy. Seriously. My co-workers are looking at me funny...
Turken @ Aug 22nd 2006 2:35PM
Video is great. I can hardly wait for the game. Also looking forward to the multiple tracks per song, and the 3 finger chords.
The only thing though, is that I hope they have some more "normal" characters to use as your persona. The guy in the top hat in this video... well, just look at the high jump/kick he does at the end. He seems a little too, um... "fruity" for my tastes.
32_footsteps @ Aug 22nd 2006 2:36PM
Dude, all I need is an unlockable karaoke mode for this game. C'mon, who won't be singing along while playing Sweet Child O' Mine?
And again, the only reason nobody is going nuts about Arterial Black is because not enough of you have heard it yet. The rest of the game could look like Bread's Greatest Hits and I'd still be excited over this game.
Jude Law @ Aug 22nd 2006 2:40PM
Not for 360.
Thanks you American Idiot to trust on American Nerds.
Phair @ Aug 22nd 2006 2:42PM

hahaha!
GSI @ Aug 22nd 2006 2:42PM
Sweet...mother...of...God...
That is AWESOME!
They HAVE TO put Paradise City on there...PLEASE put that song on there. I was rocking out to that song when I was in the 3rd grade. LOL
GSI @ Aug 22nd 2006 2:43PM
STFU #4...
Sam @ Aug 22nd 2006 2:47PM
Stupid PS fanboys- they're making a Guitar Hero for 360...
potato @ Aug 22nd 2006 2:47PM
Damn! They need to do a 360 port or I'm going to be hella pissed :( Sweet Child is one of my favorite songs of all time.
therpham @ Aug 22nd 2006 2:52PM
Ugh, I never want to hear "You Really Got Me" again after the awful version that was on US beatmania and IIDX RED CS.
Bailama @ Aug 22nd 2006 2:52PM
How do you guys feel about this coming out. Finally I am back on joystiq.com.

#4 and #5 are clueless. The developers themselves have already said they are working on a 360 version. Obviously there will be some exclusivity period, but I couldn't care less as long as there are downloadable songs on XBL Marketplace.
Daniel @ Aug 22nd 2006 3:00PM
Sorry to be uber-picky, but as a big Rage Against the Machine fan, it annoys me to no end when people call the song 'Killing in the Name OF'; it's just 'Killing in the Name'.
Oh, and SCO'M will be very, very sweet. I look forward to playing this for many hours.
Dopple Boppler @ Aug 22nd 2006 3:03PM
Oh noes, one less Wii game this fall for poor little Dopple Boppler. 'Tis a bittersweet feeling.
electro^plankton @ Aug 22nd 2006 3:03PM
Wow, I must be young because I don't know any of these bands.
KrazyIan @ Aug 22nd 2006 3:05PM
Anthrax's Madhouse for the win; damn does that song rule.
Wedge @ Aug 22nd 2006 3:17PM
Hell. Yes.
Eric @ Aug 22nd 2006 3:27PM
So is "Killing in the Name" going to be censored? That would truely suck if they don't use the original lyrics.
vaylen @ Aug 22nd 2006 3:30PM
Meh... Guns N' Roses suck almost as bad as Bon Jovi. I weep that The Scorpions aren't on here.
Matt @ Aug 22nd 2006 3:50PM
"The Outlaw Torn". Metallica.
(Or is that whole DRM thing so stuck up their ass sideways they won't even license to a video game?)
rocko @ Aug 22nd 2006 3:53PM
we've got a killer line-up for you tonight!! On drums.............the Nintendo Gamecube!!!! On vocals, please welcome xbox!! And last but not least, on guitar, PLAYSTATION 2!!!! As well as a special appearence by Sega Dreamcast with maracas!!!
Matt @ Aug 22nd 2006 4:10PM
Nice to see Rush's YYZ on there...that is the airport luggage code for toronto's airport which also happens to be my hometown - sniff. I keeps it real for the t-dot yo.
Seifer @ Aug 22nd 2006 4:25PM
.....my prayers have been answered. I am officially sold on the sequel. Now to clean up that sacrificial goat mess.
ry @ Aug 22nd 2006 4:49PM
screw you hippies, it's all about the John the Fisherman!
Desert @ Aug 22nd 2006 5:02PM
I was just thinking how cool Guitar Hero would be on the Xbox 360. Imagine playing 2 player over Live, using the video camera, and being able to download new longs via Live.
Damn that would be fun.
crono141 @ Aug 22nd 2006 5:06PM
21 Rocko,
Thats friggin awesome. I was actually thinking that exact thing a few days ago.
Just Picked up GH1 last weekend. I love it to death, but its hard as hell.
josh r. @ Aug 22nd 2006 5:06PM
What they need is to add Eruption by Van Halen, which is the intro to You've really got me.
Brian @ Aug 22nd 2006 5:30PM
The guitarist from Drist is good no doubt as he shows his stuff off on Guitar Hero, but man his band sucks. I guess they have to return the favor to him again by allowing his horrible band to be on GH2. Dissapointed. Anyway, Every Time I Die will have a song on GH2, that's not listed above. Chances are, noone on here has heard of them anyway.
Leper Messiah @ Aug 22nd 2006 5:46PM
How bout Master of Puppets (if you dont know what band that is, I've got a finger for you to see) and Josh's idea, Van Halen's Eruption?
And some classic Iron Maiden. I'm thinking... PROWLER anyone?
JRM @ Aug 22nd 2006 6:08PM
excellent that YYZ is featured. It's also lots of fun to play that with a real guitar. I don't know how eruption would work on the guitar controller though. but if they're ever able to pull off eruption, they could also do Nuno Bettencourt's "Flight of the wounded bumblebee"
Ultimatallica @ Aug 22nd 2006 6:19PM
RATM!!!!!????
Granted I don't really like Killing in the Name Of.... but any RATM instantly makes the game twice as good. Though it'll probably be censored, which is completely bullshit considering they're the greatest political band ever.
Night Elve @ Aug 22nd 2006 6:59PM
Run to the hills, run for your life ¡¡¡
peanutter @ Aug 22nd 2006 7:35PM
Kinks aside, that is an awful lot of shit bands.
EOTFM
Guest @ Aug 22nd 2006 8:46PM
Huh. I was thinking, "Welcome to the Jungle", but this is good too.
JFink @ Aug 22nd 2006 9:43PM
Gamespot.com has video of "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd in the game
Don Jose @ Aug 23rd 2006 5:21AM
Primus, huh? That's the first interesting piece of news I've heard about the Guitar Hero franchise since that stoner kid turned his controller into a sequencer.
56belair @ Aug 25th 2006 3:13AM
Marcus left Drist cuz they suck. Smart move IMHO. They were lucky to have him for as long as they did...
