The $60 camera bundle looks like a great deal, usually the 12 month cards come with some old game! I hope this gets the same support the eyetoy got on the ps2, i tried that out in walmart and loved it!

If you have a gold membership already will this extra 1 year gold membership take away your subscription payment for a year? Or does it simply allow you to set up a second account free for a year?

The engadget/joystiq news has been really slow on the uptake recently, some news mentions is as old as a week compared to places like maxconsole.com, and so is this microsoft news by HOURS...They have mentioned a lot more stuff already, including exclusives for 12 months with the Fifa 07 and PES franchise...c'mon guys, get updating quicker!

The EA press release actually says *this* year not 12 months, I think it's highly possible you will see FIFA on ps3 in early 2007. And whenever they re-tool the controls for the Wii (likely early 2007 as well). Don't get your 360 fanboy panties in a bunch.

Bundling this stuff is stupid. I, like countless Live users, already *have* UNO. Why buy it again?

You're forgetting the bigger news:

"Real news at last! PES6 and FIFA 360 will be next-gen exclusives for 12 months. That'll put the killer pigeon among the cats! "Xbox 360 owns football," intones Lewis."

You can use the 12 month card to do either of those things. You can extend your subscribtion another year under "account information" in your current profile or set up a brand new account under another gamertag. However I'm not sure if they can both be under the same Email address.

@#5 Steve,

Firstly, I'm not a 360 fanboy, I actually prefer the Wii, its just the fact that this is the biggest news from Micro$oft and it hasn't even been mentioned here yet...

and yes, both titles, PES6 and FIFA07 are next gen EXCLUSIVES for the 360 for 12 MONTHS. The PS3 versions if/when they do come out within the next 12 months will have a standard gen conversion...

Actually, EA spokesman says as much in interview:

Hugues Ricour: Well, our Xbox 360 version is based on a completely new gameplay engine. We will release a PlayStation 3 version, but not this year. So two years ago we decided to rewrite the engine, and it took us more than 100,000 man-hours of work to do this.

Believe me, 12 months will probably turn into 6 months, if it's not already a mistranslation.

#11: 2 new games from Nintendo, or some PC hardware? I'll take 2 new games over a new mouse.

Really news on how the DS is dominating Europe, getting the nongamer masses into gaming, two new Wii online enabled games, tons of DS games getting released for Europe and the pink DS lite coming to Europe is much more then Microsoft released.

Get your head out of your butt and listen to what Nintendo said.

He's referring to Pro Evolution Soccer, from Konami.

I don't think you even tried reading between the lines of the article you read:

"Pro Evolution Soccer 6 gets its own extended trailer, now. To be perfectly honest, it looks like a slightly prettier version of the PS2 game"

In other words, it's PES6 on the 360 that's the last-gen port. The PS3 version (likely PES7) will be the first true next-gen PES.

Also, it just says PES6 is exclusive - not the PES series, and not "Winning Eleven". So the Xbox 360 gets its PS2 port of PES6 in Europe, while the PS3 gets PES7 and Winning Eleven 11(!) in the US and Japan sometime within the next 12 months. Basically, what MS has secured is European exclusivity for an obsolete port.

Not much of an "exclusive" there if you ask me.

Looking forward to the wireless adapter for PC. Then my wired controller can go where it belongs, in the desk drawer awaiting its use in a 2-player game.

Some of that isn't exactly "breaking news" since IGN has done articles on the wireless headset and other 360 accessories months ago.

I'm still curious on when the PC receiver to allow you to use your wireless 360 controllers is coming out.
