Reminder: Just Cause demo available tomorrow

As reported earlier, the upcoming free-roamer Just Cause will be ready for download on the 360 and PC tomorrow at 6 a.m. Pacific. Shipping on Sept. 27, gamers will be able to get a month-long head start into familiarizing themselves with the title's unique stunt technique gameplay.
While the game itself is a massive 250,000 acres, the demo will take place on an island one twentieth the size of that. According to Eidos, you will be able "to liberate a village, assassinate some political leaders, and explore the beautiful island of San Esperito at top speed on a vehicle of your choice."

Nothing better than a *good* GTA ripoff. Saints Row demo was awesome. Hopefully this one is even better. Nice they gave us a month to finish Saints Row before we start on Just Cause.
360 rocks
Ouch. @ Aug 23rd 2006 10:17PM
This is more Boiling Point than GTA, honestly.
You guys remember Boiling Point, right? RIIIGHT???!!!
OTAM @ Aug 23rd 2006 10:44PM
You parachute from airplanes doing stunts and all types of insane Mission Impossible shit on a tropical island. Liberating villages, assassinating political leaders? This game sounds like some Jamaican stuff government wise.
How does this have any resemblence to GTA whatsoever?
Ripperrim @ Aug 23rd 2006 10:52PM
It's an open world game or sandbox game. a GTA ripoff/clone implys its similar to GTA and the last time i checked, GTA didn't involve hanging onto the back of aircrafts or grappling hooks and the like

I do Ouch...I SINCERELY wanted to like the game, but the terrible vehicle physics and bugs made it absolutely intolerable. A new patch was released not too long ago, and I installed BP again on a superior machine and it still wasn't all that playable. :(
...hence my 'more than so' interest in this game. :)

250,000 acres... and it fits all on one DVD...
Atomic Pond @ Aug 23rd 2006 11:48PM
I am hoping this is going to make up for the underwhelming Saints Row demo and be on a par with Dead Rising (or better!).
However, from the videos I have noticed performance issues (slow down) and pray there will be no tearing in this one! Demo will reveal all I guess - I will keep an open mind until I've played it. :)

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. A game that uses every negative stereotype in the book, horrible voice acting, bland gameplay (go get me a hoe! kill that mofo b/c he wears a different color!), etc is an "awesome" game.

It's fucking brilliant. My character looks exactly like Leonard Nimoy.
"You have too many hos to fit in this car!"
Fucking excellent.

Super Mario Bros is an awesome game? Riiiiiiiiight. A game that uses every negative stereotype in the book, horrible voice acting, bland gameplay (jump on that platform! kill that turtel becuz he is different from me), etc is an "awesome" game.
See how lame you sound?
LordMinogue @ Aug 24th 2006 12:07PM
Some simple math shows that the game covers an area of 391 square miles (correct me if I'm wrong).
DVD is too small for developers to use...BAH!
iEnigma @ Aug 24th 2006 12:18PM
390.625 square miles. Hell yes.
VampireHunter Z @ Aug 24th 2006 4:17PM
@Monster

Andy @ Aug 24th 2006 5:25PM

When SMB first came out it was original and a style of gameplay that had never really been done before on a console...that is WHY it so highly regarded (oh AND it appeals to just about everyone.)
What did Saints Row offer other then being a complete rip off of GTA right down to the theme? Oh that's right...it didn't offer anything new or revolutionary and people will have forgotten about it in a couple of months (if even that.)
Floppy @ Aug 26th 2006 7:09PM
"What did Saints Row offer other then being a complete rip off of GTA right down to the theme?"
Next-gen graphics, physics and of course that whole online mulitplayer thing that GTA has yet to realize existed?
GSI @ Aug 27th 2006 3:36AM
Ok so to re-phrase that question...what has it offered that has made it's gameplay different?
Next-gen graphics are just prettier pictures (same copied gameplay.)
So the characters are rag dolls now when they die and you can kick objects around. Big deal.
Online multiplayer? _MIGHT_ be interesting but it still doesn't mean the game is original.
