As IGN was checking out the new Virtua Tennis 3 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at Leipzig, they made note of the "slight" differences between the two versions saying that the PS3 edged out the 360 when it came to graphical dominance.
Plainly put, the PS3 looked a little better with sharper textures and incredibly detailed player models. It was almost eerie when we noticed the veins sticking out in our character's forehead.
To be fair, however, IGN does say that the different versions are being worked on by two different companies -- which could account for the slight differences. But, we're sure this won't stop the many fanboys ready to defend their camp on this new info.

I thought the difference between the systems would be much greater; I'm dissapointed in you Sony.
Let's go back a few years, when the XBOX was graphics supreme (Halo, Ninja Gaiden, Splinter Cell). MS fanboys were all "Graphics are Supreme" and Sony fanboys were all "Games are Supreme."
Look now at how the arguments are reversed. Its like how the Democrats and Republicans switched platforms; everyone who is a fanboy is too caught up in the conflict to notice or care.
If the power of advertising gets much greater it will be 1984 all over again.

I hear its going to include the entire TV coverage of the US Open, Wimbledon, and French Open in HD! With room to spare. Oh...forgot to say there will be Hello Kitty coverage too...

Didn't you hear? with all the extra Blu-Ray space, AM2 added a "turkey neck" secret entitlement just in time for the holidays!

What I'm curious about is whether each game is going to cost the same or not. I'd be pretty pissed if I had to pay an extra $10 for forehead veins V_v

It's not supposed to show you the light, it's just saying Tennis looks better on PS3...

And to clarify my last post, by the 360 vs. PS3 being the same as PS2 vs. XBox I meant mostly graphical power. XBox had a slight graphical edge to PS2 but it didn't really help it sell, especially since most games didn't really take advantage of the XBox's extra power. Now it seems the roles are reversed with the PS3 being more powerful than 360. Will it help it sell? I doubt it, especially if all we're getting is neck veins.
Maybe thats why Sony pushed BluRay onto the PS3, so we could stare at hideous neck veins!

First of, it's all about the games to any fanboy. Nrev5, 360, and ps3.
I'm sorry you 360 fanboys thought the 360 was gonna be more powerful.
If Oblivion, Halo 3, and etc are supposed to be what drives the 360, that's pathetic.
Sony fanboys get to brag on how powerful the ps3 is yes, but given the fact it's not out yet, we still will get to brag about better games also.
You must have a secret supply of every ps3 game eh? So you're able to conclude the 360 games like Oblivin (zomg, a trasnaprent wall!) is better than all the ps3 games you have/played right?
And lastly....
gamecube-inovation
xbox-fps,sports
ps2-power&huge library (on top)
wii-inovation again
360-power,multiple genres
ps3-MORE power, multiple genres. (on top again)

Developers should take a long, hard look at WoW and Everquest 2. Gameplay arguments aside, look at which requires the beefier system and which is infinitely more pleasant to look at (and more successful to boot).
I've been a gamer for nearly 20 years and crap like this is just beginning to disinterest me.

And what's with the two separate companies working on the same product? Is the PS3 that difficult to master you have to use a totally different company?

Sasuke-kun, True, GameCube had more proccesing power but their media was too small to hold any large content games which make them on par with each others.

"His neck? What about the way he's holding the racket? Isn't that a little, oh I dunno, unnatural?"
Have you ever actually played tennis, or at least watched a tennis match? Its natural for your arm to go in that position after hitting a serve with heavy topspin. I would know, since I actually play a sport (unlike most of the people on these boards).

The reason this is important is because for people that own both a 360 and a PS3, which version will you buy? Will you buy it on the 360, or on the PS3 which will have a few more graphical tweaks? It worked for xbox last generation. Which system did you buy Tony Hawk or NFSU for? What made you choose that? Because, the games cost the same, but you get more out of one system than another. That's the reason this is big news, all those cross-platform ports will end up looking better on PS3 (supposedly).
Also, PS3 online should be free, so if it actually works (IF!), than that's another plus for sony.
