Wow that aiming system looks fucking HORRIBLE. The fact that you have to move the cursor over to one side or the other just to look in that direction is a joke. That isn't precision. He stopped locking-on for awhile, but then any time more than 2 enemies showed up he went back to locking-on. The fact that there even NEEDS to be a locking-on function is an utter joke to FPS games. This looks almost exactly like MP1 and 2, only with worse control. I watched the CoD3 footage and it was amazing how the explosions and overall look of the game added to the immersion.

I'm sorry, but I'd rather have the basic analog control (keyboard & mouse withstanding). If you really want to keep moving the cursor back and forth, up and down just to LOOK in a direction then have fun with that.

Anyways, I'm off to go play some bball since its perfect weather today. Late!

The lockon function has been there in all the other prime games, and it will be there in Prime Corruption. That's not a joke. The aiming system horrible? All he had to do was point and shoot. How is that horrible? The fact that you cite having to move to the edge of the screen to shift the cursor is EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO WITH YOUR DUAL-ANALOG SETUP!!!! You want to turn? Move the cursor to the edge using the stick and turn... slower than you would on the Wii.

Seriously, there's something wrong if you think that the CoD3 video I posted has a better, more accurate aiming system. I couldn't stand just watching that video, it was awful. To watch the cursor slowly slide left, and then in a linear motion up, and then a linear motion right... it was all so slow and inaccurate. If it wasn't for autoaim shooters on consoles with dual-analog would be completely unplayable. The Wii can change that, *if* it is perfected from now until launch. All they have to do is adjust the sensitivity and fix the turning speed (or use the Expert mode to mimick the mouse and have a centering button, that's all it would take).

Then you go on to cite how amazing the look of CoD3 is... *snore*. Did you see the part of the CoD3 video where you had to tap L and R simultaneously to get the soldier off you? And then to repeatedly tap more buttons to push him over? Is that what you consider immersion? How about actually PUSHING the guy away with your own hands, grabbing his gun with your own hands, and pointing at him on your screen and firing. THAT'S immersion... not pretty particle explosions and extra grass blades.

I see a few of you in this thread saying that this is no big deal because 2007 would only be a few months after the launch, but what these couple of people aren't getting is that the article is claiming that 3rd party devs will only be getting the tools to include online support, so if the article's claim is true then the first 3rd party online games won't be appearing until either late summer or early fall.

Third parties will be getting every single piece of information on the Wii... when it goes retail. That means, as of November, the Wii development kit will be complete. Since it's a retail box, NO specs are going to change and all the capabilities (aside from firmware upgrades) are going to be on the table. I think what should be taken from this article is that the earliest we'll see third party games go online is Q1 2007... or it's even a possibility that once the final SDK's are out, we may get a rushed online third party product in time for Christmas. It all depends.

Remember, Nintendo doesn't want to put in online at the expense of having their console not be family-friendly, so if 3rd parties are making their online games totally differently and letting kids see cuss words and such (oh no!), they'll lose that regardless of whether it was a Nintendo-developed game or not.

You forget that its possible to update games now like PC. But it would be unprecidented for an update of that magnitude...the entire multiplayer mode!?

Or maybe they'll just give it to the best 3rd party games like Red Steel...
