Well, let's think about this for a second. Stereo-scopic 3D glasses that use an analog monitor have been around for a very long time. If hover, DLP technology shrunk was employed into a helmet, then it's actually feasable. The sensor bar can be placed infront of you to read the Wii and possible the angle of your head so that you can look over your shoulder, or anywhere else. Movment is still controlled by the nunchuk and Wii-mote.

I call the technology believable...but not for $79.

Did nobody notice the phone number in the upper right corner? That's not Nintendo PR - their PR is handled by an external company anyway - but customer service! yeesh, this should have been declared stupid and dead before it was even posted. C'mon, Joystiq, even you must have known not to give lip service to this!

That phone number is consumer services... same number people call to get systems fixed.

Virtual Boy 2. Now with color using DLP techology that even projectors are doing.

When they say Virtual Console, they mean it!

Again, getting the graphics api to display/render stereo-scopic graphics at 30fps is no big deal. A 7 MHz Motorola 68000 powered Amiga did it in 1989 with a graphics chip that couldn't even match the Sega Genesis/Megadrive.

I forget the launch price of the Virtual Boy ($150 iirc) but I say the technology is there for sure... I think it will still be wired to the Wii via the a/v connector. Makes it a truly portable and "virtual" console at the same time. No need to lug an 80 lbs TV.

Well, some things are not too far off from what they might actually be (Price, Launch date, name of points used for VC, game launch list), but some I can just not force myself to believe (Head Mounted Display). I mean, it would be great and all, having an HMD, but really, would there be a point right now? I guess if this did turn out to be true though, we'd all adjust to it and start loving it, like all Nintendo things that make you go "WhatthecrapisthisohokaywaitaminutethisiscoolhahaIlovethisshit"

Props to whoever made it though, it's pretty convincing.

Unless it really is the conference.

I certainly think that Pit (Kid Icarus) could have a new game, as he is a character in SSB:B. That being said, the Ice Climbers didn't get much more than a makeover.

@26 - No, they wouldn't. Try it. The crumples from the inside sheets would be closer and more creased than the crumples on the outside sheets. :) This is very obviously a digital effect.
If this were true, I have one problem with the outcome - only one Wiimote? Erhm.
But it is an obviously fake document. The Joystiq take doesn't cover half of it.

lol at every single person who adds "This is so fake, zomgzors" as if they're saying anything new that wasn't said in the first 5 replies. And the fact that you tards feel the need to express your thoughts on the matter when it's talking about tech that wasn't even believable (price-wise at least, ya, stereoscopic tech has existed for decades, yadayada) last year, nevermind now, makes it even funnier that you're all even bothering to sound all-knowing in your replies.

Where did I get the info from? I used to own an Amiga. Infact, alot of the better developers today started on the Amiga platform. There have been many postings on Joystiq referencing classic Amiga software.

http://www.i-glassesstore.com/hmds.html

The technology already exists. And that's all I said about it being believable. To me the price ($79) is what makes it b.s..

When you've finished puberty, ask me what I'm smoking again.

Oh wow, he is right, thats 100% photoshopped. Look at the text on the creases, notice how it is still perfect. There is no warping in it at all. Look at the creases, they are exactly the same on each page. Could have at least printed it out and scanned it in later ; ;

I'm disappointed in the creator of this fake, very disappointed.

Rofl, I actually read through this, and I must admit I had great fun :)

Some of my favorite points:
Build(sp,built)-in Opera browser with AJAX SUPPORT.
Zelda + Metroid + Redsteel + 19 more games = 21! (3+19=22)
"There's so little benefit in HD-tech at this time."
"What if your TV only goes to 720p?"
H M D!!! (YES! Now we know what Viewtiful Joe's T-shirt means)

Great times, I'm less disappointed in the creator now.

It's a real pity that this is fake, because a package like that at only $175 would be decidedly AWESOME. I'd love to see them pull of something similar, at least.

#1 Hint at possible Apple partnership
Well to me Nintendo say that they have a surprise and this must be it the ipod with the itunes hook up to the Wii with the USB 2.0 ports

#2 $175 U.S. price
fake has to be more than the GameCube's $199 Launch Price

#3 Launch date of Oct. 2
fake

#4 1.5 million units shipped to U.S.; 1.5 million units shipped to Japan; 1 million units shipped to Europe
This looks right to me Nintendo say that they will ship 4 million or more console units by the end of the 2006 calendar year

#5 Wii package includes: Black or white Wii console; one Wii remote; one nun chuck device; one classic controller; copy of Wii Sports; built-in WiiConnect24 service; voucher for 1,000 coins for Virtual Console; built-in Web browser; remake of Duck Hunt; 512MB SD card. fake

#6 21 launch titles
fake Nintendo has stated that about 27 or more titles will be available in the launch window

#7 New Kid Icarus game for Wii
Maybe

You can tell its fake because of what it says on the first page about the ds outselling the psp and such. In my experience Nintendo usually dont say much about theyre competiters, and if they say anything its because somone asked them something.

@66

So...basically you're saying that everything that isn't 100% confirmed true already is fake? Grand argument there.

That being said, I don't really think this is a real leaked document - as has been previously stated, -real- companies have shredders, and they don't photoshop their trash with a crumple texture. But its a reasonably decent fake; I'd believe that launch package in a heartbeat, its too perfect for Nintendo's vision. Would certainly serve to get a new person off the street to try the system, coming with 2 games and credit for downloads. And I just want to habeeb that it'll drop on October 2nd...and you can't make me think otherwise.
